Re: Gentlemen Broncos - Discuss the actual film in here please

I thought the movie was a sweet and funny film with a sad thread through out. Movies like this ride a very thin line for me when it comes to they way it portrays people. Some times it works, sometime it doesn't. Either way, it makes me feel strangely uncomfortable. I don't know, it's hard to explain...

Re: Jemaine at Fantastic Fest 2009

I was at the movie last night. I did miss Jemaine on the red carpet but saw others. Can't say how much I love Mike White, that man is too funny. Not to mention Sam Rockwell is so damn adorable in person. During the Q&A, I loved the question about how Jared had worked with one half of 2 different...

Re: Seen any good movies lately?

I just saw a commercial for G-Force. While I probably won't go see it, I can't help but smile when I think about Zach Galifianakis on the big screen in 3-D. It will be like his beard reaches out and touches you!!!

Re: The Tour Posters

I forgot all about this place. They do frames of all sizes and at a reasonable price. I've used them before and had no problems with them. You can order full framing(mat/foam core/etc..) or just the frame shell. I usually just get the frame from them and get someone local to mat things, so I can see...

Re: FotC Isnt the Only Thing on TV

I love Top Chef and Project Runway. They've been the two shows of this nature where it seemed like the contestants actually have real skill and aren't just on for their 15 minutes of fame. I've watched The Fashion Show, but never enjoyed it as much and didn't feel like the designers were all that g...

Re: Seen any good movies lately?

I just saw a special on the new Judd Apatow movie called Funny People. Not only was it informational(Judd and Adam Sandler lived together when they were 21-22ish), it was very funny. What I saw on Comedy Central was a "making of" from Judd's point of view. I loved the scene where his kids ...

Re: Jemaine in Austin for Fantastic Fest

Yes, Sherry, I totally agree. Only pay for the pass if this festival is something you would want to see. These movies are of the "acquired taste" catagory. The good news about this festival is that it's usually 10-1 men to women ratio. You will never have to stand in line at the toliet. Wh...

Re: I hate my job! Or do I?

Ok, I've been semi-unemployed(it's complicated) for the last year and I just started working again. yeah!! I do love my job, especially right now. I work from home **sweet** and am doing nothing. LOVE IT!! Of course, things will build up steam soon enough, but I do love working in my "loungewea...

Short shorts?! :waiting: What can I say, everyone is so hot and sweaty, two people can get stuck together from all the sweat. ne...

Re: Jemaine in Austin for Fantastic Fest

Like I said in the first post, this is a strange little movie festival. I usually see this festival for all the really quirky or bizarre movies that are never released wide but only in one or two cities. Sometimes the opening films have been main stream films, like this Gentleman Broncos, but I can'...

Jemaine in Austin for Fantastic Fest

Just saw this tweet- Jemaine Clement and Jared Hess to kick off Fantastic Fest 2009 - full press release here: http://blog.fantasticfest.c... Looks like Gentleman Broncos will kick off this film festival. This is a not your typical movie festival, it will have the occasional "normal" films...

Re: Inspired by spaghetti hoops

We are two nations separated by a common language. I'm amused(for some reason) the different pronunciation of Adidas. Years back, I heard a report on the news while in Scotland about Adidas. It wasn't until I read it in a paper a couple of days later what company they had been talking about. :worry:

My face hurts from smiling for 4 minutes and 15 seconds. Thanks for that. More TPF I must own. New song? Old song? Anyone know what album it's on? I love that the kid disses The Phoenix Foundation. Hee hee. I have to warn you- they are very- VERY addicting. I think I had Horse Power/Eagle v Shark i...
