OMG!!! I just got the new Andrew Bird cd. :woohoo:
This made my day, especially since it's not suppose to be released until 20 January! I can only figure that since I ordered directly from the label, they just shipped all preorders along with store shipments. :dunno:
I don't know.....I don't care.....they can't have it back!!!! :lalala:
Why don't you accept me as your God!?

Yay! New music! Isn't it the best? I've got happy butterflies just thinking about it. There's nothing like that moment when you press PLAY on something you've never heard before, but know is going to spin your aural world around.

Mmmmmmm...........

Happy listening, my Diva!

Oh my gosh, Firesign Theatre!! I hadn't thought of them in the longest time!!! They defined my later college years, especially Nick Danger, Third Eye.
(Of course, I loved "Everyone knew her as Nancy" )
Also another old favorite, the Bonzo Dog Band, Tubas In the Moonlight. :roll2: (They also were known as the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band)

That's so neat that you've interviewed them Emafer! I have Liquid Skin and Split the Difference - what else can you recommend by them? (Sorry, I know this should probably be in another thread.)

Hey Val, I would say go pick up the first CD Bring It On and Abandoned Shopping Trolly Hotline which includes the Ep Machismo. How We operate has some killer ons on it too but I think that Liquid Skin and Split the Difference are actually my faves :D

One of the members of Bonzo Dog Doodah Band was Neil Innes.
I admit that I'm not really familiar with their tunes. I'm more of a fan of him from all the tunes he did as part of The Rutles (Beatles parody band).
The tunes are really spot on and quite good actually  :D .
I think that you can find a Rutles CD out there but the best way to enjoy Rutles tunes is to watch the movie, All You Need Is Cash. That movie features Neil as well as Eric Idle from Monty Python.

Here's one of the songs from that movie : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEEfJGp6VLw

I actually own the Rutles on vinyl and have the movie on tape(VHS). :worry: I haven't listened to it in years but it was very funny. Lorne Michaels produced it, so it's full of the orginal SNL cast, along with lots of real musicians. If you can find it, watch it.

Fear not "All You Need Is Cash" is available on DVD. I still haven't seen the sequel, Can't Buy Me Lunch, yet.

I have quickly become a fan of Neil Innes. Thanks for his background info.
I didn't know he wrote the song and was the minstrel singing of Brave Sir Robin in Monty Python's Holy Grail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4SJ0xR2_bQ.
I love all kinds of music, but it's fun to listen to something this silly every once in awhile. :roll2:
