I always wanted to go to Tasmania. Mostly because it sounds exotic and cartoonish. And I'd like to see The Devil before he goes extinct. Lordy, they make nightmarish sounds don't they?

Haha, cartoonish :P

It's very much like country England I think....

I love Tassie Devils! They sound very scary, but I think they're cute :)

Awwww. I think they are cute & ugly at the same time. They're cugly. That piggish/snorty noise reminds me of a snorer I used to know.

I want to go down under and down underer to see wildlife I can't see around here. Like koalas! I did see one at the San Diego zoo though. So cuddly!

I'm not a big fan of koalas...they piss and smell weird...

I'd like to go to NZ and see a Kea (sp) :)

Edit; this is the possessed koala who lives in a tree in our backyard...

Whoa, Peaches, a koala lives in your backyard?! That's so crazy awesome!! There's never anything cool in our backyard in Texas. Growing up in Florida we had lots of gators and rarely the occassional manatee. The manatees stayed in the canals and lakes of course but the gators would sometimes come up to our yard or our neighbor's pool.

This is a great little article "Naked Kiwi Cyclists Warned Over Helmets"
I love how rambling it is, and how it starts talking about this other funny thing that happened with those crazy kiwis...

That was funny.

Some of you already know this but I didn't.

New Zealand claims the longest place name (85 letters) in the world - Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu - which means: 'The hilltop ,where Tamatea with big knees, conqueror of mountains, eater of land, traveller over land and sea, played his koauau to his beloved'.

Ha! That place name makes a heck of a roadsign! (It's all one word though, no gaps). I think I have a photo of the signpost somewhere from my travels about the country... :hrm:
There are a couple of Welsh place names that rival it for length I'm sure!

Nice NZ name. :rolls:

I've come across the Welsh place. I had to sing it in a Sondheim song. Wow, was it hard!

Webster, Massachusetts has one for the books as well:
Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagogchaubunagungamaugg, which means: "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and nobody fishes in the middle"! :roll2:
