Its so cold here now. 80's in Texas? I am jealous!! We are next door, sorta, and it is only 50's and low 40's at night bbrrr. We survived the crazy tornadoes and snow last few days, now it is just cold the kind you don't warm up from without lots of blankies.

But, I am not complaining, because...Biscuit...how is it over there now? I hope not too bad.

I think the boots you got are really cute, and very practical. :thumb:

It's fine here now thanks, Ryche :D

-13 C and sunny. I can go outside without wearing a hat or gloves  And we've been able to take the kids out sledging for hours on end over the weekend.

Still, I'm always looking forward to spring and summer :halo:

One of my sisters lives in Ohio. Their idea of warm weather is our cold weather. I'm glad it stopped raining but it's supposed to start again on Tuesday. :o

The forecast for last night and today was 1/2 of snow and windy conditions. Instead, we got FIVE inches of snow and gale force winds. It's been enough to push us into an actual blizzard warning. I hate hate hate winter!!

And here in New England it's almost 5pm and 52 degrees F!!
But there's a wicked hurricane-like storm outside, with gale winds whipping and lots of heavy rain. So glad I don't have to go out tonight! 8)

We had rain today but nothing terrible. It was 60 degrees today. I had the deck door open and even cleaned off a deck chair and sat out there for a bit. Good stuff :thumb:

Yup. I'm a little further north from you two, Nancy and SW, and we had the rain and heavy winds too. Went up to 10 C (50 F) which is pretty rare in January - but not totally unheard of. It's kind of nice to get a break from the cold, but all I can think about is the ice we'll have tomorrow, covered by a thin layer of snow so you can't even see it. :nails:

It was nice out today, I think the high was like 65. I'm going to try and enjoy it while I can, they say it's supposed to get cold and rainy this weekend. Of course when I say cold, I mean like in the 30s at night, which is nothing compared to where some of you live.

Dear Winter:

I hate you. You make my car messy, my commute three times as long, and my hands and fingers chapped. I slip and fall and trip and look like a drunken idiot on your ice. You force me to dress like a sausage in a futile attempt to keep warm. (On a somewhat positive note, you let me get away with not shaving my legs for several months at a time.) I can't hang out on the patio and drink beer with my friends because you make it so miserable outside. All of the pretty birds go away because of you, and you make the sky gray, the trees bare, and the lakes frozen.

I want you to know today that I quit. I am simply no longer interested in hanging out with you. And it's not you - it's me, since I don't like you. No wait...it is you, because you suck. Go away.

Unsincerely,
eejm

P.S. You can take that shovel and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Perfect eejm, absolutely perfect!! I concur!!

I've actually been brainwashed by my husband, and now my daughter, to accept winter. I'm doing much better. Plus, two winters ago we got the second greatest total snowfall in about a century. Now I feel like I'm ready for anything.

I concur!

We're supposed to have some snow today, only about an inch or less, but the temps are heading back down again. Hate.
