I think it's supposed to be back in the 70s later this week. Right now it's 42.

I don't think I could handle that weird Texas weather. I had no idea it fluctuated so much.

It's too cold here but thankfully no snow yet.

It's in the high 20's here in central Iowa. We have a couple of inches of snow and they're forecasting a light fresh blanket on Wednesday. We should have a perfect white Christmas. :)

Just walked to and from lunch at Applebee's here in Mesa. yum Oriental Chicken Salad.

The weather could not be better; high 70's.

That being said, I really miss snow. That makes me sad to have palm trees for Christmas, when I should see snow covered evergreens and red birds like the Christmas card pictures. :( and my childhood memories.

We had a light dusting of snow today, but on top of that it is bitter cold with a monster wind off the water. Brrr!
Nonch, Im surprised to hear you're not totally buried in snow - the way the weather guys talked you were under many feet of snow!

I didn't mean to make it sound like I only wanted to hear from the US folks - I've heard Europe is going through some rough weather as well. How are you all doing?

I'm curious about how much snow they actually have in Europe, like in Germany for example, I think it may be significant. But it looks like a dusting in the Netherlands and I heard 4 inches in parts of England. The newscasters laughed last night over 4 inches of snow causing such trouble and I had to agree. With this as well as the ash cloud disaster earlier this year methinks perhaps the Euro transport system needs an overhaul.

I like all this talk of snow. Reminds me of the fact that it is December and it is supposed to be cold outside and not 75 like it is now.

75 sounds pretty good right about now, Faith. It's a balmy 31 here, but the wind is off the water, which makes it feel a gazillion degrees colder. No matter how many layers I put on, I can't get warm when the wind is whipping around like this.
I know what you mean about wanting snow, though. When we lived in LA, I hated not having snow at this time of year. still, 75.... :hrm:

I used to think that I couldn't live without cold and snow for Christmas but over the past few years I've grown to abhor the cold so I'd be content to be in a sunny warm place. However, sometimes its fun to bundle up. I had a lovely shopping day in NYC yesterday, despite the cold it wasn't windy and my neck actually got too hot from my scarf. AND the Christmas markets were decidedly uncrowded - now I know to wait until Christmas week to do my shopping in the future. :)

I feel for the people in LA area. V are you okay? The torrential rains are destroying homes and Christmas plans for many people.

North Western AZ is being hit with 10 inches of rain in one day with no end in sight, That is 3x as much as they usually get in a whole year!! I feel so bad for those people. Instead of happy holiday thoughts these people are just trying to save their homes. :(

Those storms are really scary-looking. Rhode Island got so much rain in March, I know what it's like to have places flood and become impassable. Our house wasn't affected, but the state was a disaster area. Some stores in the Mall still haven't opened. :(
I just talked to Amy in LA - she said it has actually stopped raining at the moment, but this past week has been hairy. She had a 2 1/2 hour drive up to Santa Barbara last weekend, and it was nonstop torrential downpour. :doomed:

There oughta be a law - no bad weather for Christmas! :hammer:

I have a friend in LA who has many a tale of natural disaster- floods, landslides, she was caught in that bad earthquake a while back, sounds like a hectic place, but I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Where did you grow up Ryche?

I just couldn't take living with earthquakes, like a Sword of Damocles constantly hanging over my head. I went through several smaller ones as well as one 7.0, which luckily was far away and didn't damage anything but my nerves! Just wondering when the next one was coming was too much for me. At least with weather problems we get some notice and can prepare ourselves.
