I echo your sentiments, 4ever. Despite the hardships of this year, there is so much to be grateful for. I'm thankful for all the wonderful friends here who give me love, support, and laughter on a regular basis. :bighug:
I'm also thankful for my beautiful daughter, Amy, and her boyfriend Kevin, who are terrific hosts, making yummy-smelling eats! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all, even if you don't celebrate it, lol. ;)

So how was everyone's day? We had fun. My fridge is crammed with leftovers.

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! Ours was great, even though my turkey bag's seam broke and I had to send Tom out to buy another and all the stores were sold out and I had to do the foil-tent thing....in the end it was delicious and we had a great time. I sent everyone home with leftovers for tomorrow's dinner and we still have plenty. We ended the night by looking through the sale papers, watching Punkin Chunkin and World's Dumbest and just laughing together.
It was a good day.

As Amy and I were poised to take a picture of Kevin bringing the bird out of the oven, the pan tipped slightly and spilled copious amounts of drippings back into the oven, which resounded with a menacing hiss. Suddenly the movie Backdraft was in the kitchen, as a huge wall of fire swooshed out of the oven, up the cabinets and hit the ceiling. Neither Amy nor I managed to get a shot off as we stared in horror and imagined the whole apartment going up in flames. As Kevin calmly put the bird down on the counter, I yelled to shut the oven door and turn off the heat, which he did, and soon the fire was out. Not even a singe mark was found on the fire's route up the oven to the ceiling. :sofa:
The food and the company was excellent - a grand day was had by all, and we definitely have a lot to be thankful for! :worry:

All I can say is, WHEW!!!!!

Wow! Kevin has a flair for the dramatic, huh? ;) I swear men can't do anything without adding fire or power tools to it, lol. Tell him next time to just take the turkey out of the oven with out all the pyrotechnics.

Glad everyone was OK. And now you have a good holiday story! :thumb:

We're having friends over for a leftovers potluck today, which seemed like a good idea a week ago but it turns out my house got trashed yesterday somehow ;) and I forgot I have to work today. So I have to rush home after this and somehow completely clean my house in half an hour. I can do that, right? :worry:

Of course you can.

Gosh, Nancy!

My T day with family wasn't as hideous as expected. I met my cousin's boyfriend for the first time & we bonded over our love of wine and extra dry cappuccino. He's the kind of guy that ends everything he says with either a wink or a raised eyebrow which I found pretty entertaining. Oh did I mention there was wine, yeah, that certainly helped. :drinkers: My profiteroles failed to be filled with chocolate mousse as promised by the lying menu, in fact they were filled with nothing at all. :(

Gotta catch the bus in a couple hours to meet up with Nonch & Secret Cheri in La Grande Apple. I've been staring at my overnight bag for 2 days now & have yet to fill it. Must work on that pronto.

You're saving room for Jemaine's beard-trimming accessories, aren't you? :snakeman:
My request is that you make him look less backwoodsy biker, more hunky alien. :eyelashes:
Have a great time stalking...er ....looking around the city. :worry:

Woah Nancy, I'm glad you're all alright after that incident! Good to hear you all had a nice Thanksgiving. :)
Yay, SW, nonch and SC- I know you're all going to have a great time! Wish I could be there too!
