Mel gets a song! My jaw was on the floor. She is beautiful.

I liked the Mel song - odd, but perfectly suited to her character I thought. I didn't like this as much as last week's but I LOVED the friends song.

Those Bret and Jemaine cookies looked awfully familiar

What an incredible amount of work went into that Dreams song! Good one Mel!

I liked the way they paralleled real life in that they wanted to play bigger venues. The camper-van gig - sold out!!!
The gig in the elevator was too much, with Murray pointing out possible dance partners.

Mel's cookies! Didn't they look a bit familiar? "The lips are prominent."
Mel after dreaming about Bret, "I had no idea you were so flexible."

So many things about Mel's song were so good, especially the singing cookies, which were chin people - we once put about 15 people on risers with our chins made up as chin people, complete with robes so they looked like a strange choir, and lip-synched the Hallelujah Chorus!!! (A friend still has that film- if ever anything belonged on YouTube...):nod:
I also liked the camera pulling back and changing the scene a jillion times before ending. There's so much to catch in this one, it needs a good four or five viewings to start to catch everything.

Friends - funny song, lots of good lyrics, and well-done musically. I liked the a capella intro. The bit about If you kick my dick I won't break your balls was funny, but a little racy, eh?

Jim was funny - barraging the guys with personal questions at Murray's barbecue. How about the fence with the woman's body spray-painted on it!!

I need to give this one another look - I started nodding off right before the Friends song (not the guys fault, mine!!!), but my first feeling is that even though there were strong moments in Ep 4, Ep 2 is the best one so far.

I agree with Nancy, I thought ep 2 was the best so far but next week's looks hilariously awesome.

And how could I forget Murray's friend agenda - the "a-friend-a"!

And Dandy's dream!! That was made famous on this forum! Gah! It was too much.

It's as if they were paying homage to their fans with this episode. The cookies I had seen, but Dandy, I don't think I ever saw your famous dream post. Is it on the Dream thread?

I thought Jemaine's reaction in the elevator when Mel was telling him about the dream was hilarious! It's hard to tell what freaked him out more: Bret's "rudeness" or his "niceness."

I need the Friends song in my life! Someone please tell me that's the itunes download today. Although I liked Mel's song too. It was so perfectly Mel.

I do need to complain about the tape-job Jemaine had on his arm and fingers. As someone that does taping on a professional level, it was absolutely horribly done and totally non-functional. I would be more than happy to fix that properly for you.
