Nice little article, and I love what he had to say about Jemaine: "There's something very quirky and charming, and there is something teddy bear-ish in a secret way."

Yeah, I could handle Jemaine as MY secret teddy bear!

I will read it later after I get out of class...reading now would be a bit distracting...

And by that I mean I would be distracted from looking at my very cute FOTC loving Professor!

FYI, the interview with Art Garfunkel is already posted over in the Media section of the forum, with a discussion going on about funky cuddling and such. ;)
"It was a hilarious, hilarious moment in a very bleak, bleak time of my life."

After a rewatch I noticed that Garfunkel girl's name is Karen and that Murray's intercom button is now working.

I'm thinking why this ep didn't grab me as firmly as it ought to have is coz I'm largely unfamiliar with (a) Simon & Garfunkel (b) Korean karaoke and (c) The Matrix.

You can read my review here. Complete with pictures (shirtless Jemaine!) and video. :yawinkle:

OK, so I watched this for the first time last night and I didn't laugh once except toward the end of of the Karaoke. I think that there were funny things about it and it could have been the fact that I was in a REALLY bad mood and REALLY tired. But I was disapointed. Maybe I need to watch it again.

i loved the huge skeletons with their little heads on top in the DW video, especially when their heads were moving side to side in the small break in the song, hahaha. Also, I think Bret looks alot more like Paul Simon than Jemaine looks like Garfunkel. Donno why.. must be their similar slight builds :)

I thought Bret looked nothing like Simon and, sans wig, Jemaine looked nothing like Garfunkel but I guess that was the point.

I have to admit - every time I saw Jemaine in the Garfunkel getup I wanted to puke a little bit.

Still love him to pieces, but an orange fro doesn't do him well...

Yeah, I was squicked out a little myself. But fortunately he turned into scary, sixy DemonWomanLeatherJem, and that helped. :)

Mmm...sixy Demon-Woman-Leather-Jemaine...

I haven't seen the part where he licks his lips yet. Is it right before/after he pushes up his glasses?

I'm not sure how familiar you have to be with Simon & Garfunkle and karaoke to get the joke. You still might not think it's particularly funny, but I don't know that being more familiar with them would help.

A little would do it. Just to know that "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme" is not a shopping list!

There's actually a huge in-joke in there what with "Bright Eyes". It's the theme song from the movie Watership Down, which the "guarded" Mr. Clement revealed was the first movie he ever saw on an interview with Radio NZ last year. And it was a solo Art Garfunkel song, as opposed to Simon and Garfunkel.

I don't know poop about non-US karaoke, but that scene was still funny. I loved the bit where Jem is riding the carousel, staring off into the distance. There used to be a show up in the UP, called "Finland Calling", where melancholy FInnish ballads would serve as the backdrop for pastoral scenes, and Helsinki tourist attractions. Same principle applies here, I think.
