Evening :)

It was felt a good idea if I posted about the future of the forum to clear up any misunderstanding or confusion since the main site closed. So without further ado :)

The forum will remain open. As I said previously the main site closing does not mean the forum is also. It shall remain open as long as it has an active community using it. If and when the times comes and people cease posting here, then after consultation with the mods and Max it will probably close and be archived so that it can still be read by everyone.

As has been said before, as long as there are people using it, it shall remain. If that is 6 months or 6 years then its as long as it is. Its pretty pointless having it left open if no one is actually using it hence us closing it should that happen.

MM is learning the admin ropes and has been for the past couple of weeks. She has said she is happy to do this until May next year. After that a new admin person will need to replace her but I am sure when that time comes, someone will be lined up and ready to go. The mod team are a great bunch of ladies and are all keen the forum and its community continue. None of them wish to see it close and they are all remaining on board to ensure it has a future.

Max is very busy with work and real life stuff but is happy to give his time to move the forum to its new hosting on his server. He will be moving the site also. He is also fine with doing anything tech wise should there be problems in the future. MM will be in touch with him if problems occur and the forum crashes or some such. He is a tech geek god and can usually fix most things quickly but occasionally the forum may have a bit of down time if its something that only the hosting company can fix (as has happenend in the past a few times). But we don't envision the forum stability being anything different to what it has been the past 5 years, pretty much constant.

I still intend to stand down once MM is happy with everything. I'm not actively reading the forum with a mod eye anymore and the ladies are dealing with any forum matters as they feel they need to. Of course I am still around for them to consult with and discuss with but I've pretty much ceased all mod duties. I am still working behind the scenes as an admin of course as I am still approving new membership, doing some spring cleaning and other things. But mod stuff, its all the ladies now. They know about this and now you do too ;)

There isn't really much else left to say on all this. We've closed the book on the events of the past couple of weeks and are not going to rehash them or anything. Its done, dusted and we are working to the future of the forum now :)

Hopefully this post has helped clear up any misunderstandings or confusion and if anyone has any questions regarding the forum or its future, please ask them here and we shall reply. We'd rather people ask than be left wondering or unsure.

Cheers

Sherry

Thanks, Sherry. Truly. And thank Max too. I noticed that there doesn't seem to be anything in the Archives...are you kinda messing around with that? I really enjoy looking at the old stuff from time to time. It's like re-reading a favorite book or something.

Welcome ladies :)

Nonch - I've moved the archives out of sight for a bit while I do some stuff. So its not deleted, just hiding for a bit. Most of it will reappear but certain threads from the past few weeks will remain out of sight for the reasons given above, us not wanting to rehash events and stuff. Everyone had a good chance to read them before they were moved. Hope this clears things up for you :)

Thanks! No hurry, it's nice to know they'll still be around. :D I also sort of used the fairly recent 'theme' threads as a filing system of sorts. I knew right where to go when I needed a particular photo of B or J eating.
