Hello from DC

Postby shianne517 » Thu Sep 04, 2008 7:40 pm

I am a longtime lurker on here and I finally decided to register. I live in MD in the Washington, DC area. I was lucky enough to see our boys live when they came here back in May. It was one of THE BEST concerts I have ever been to. I am also lucky enough to see Rhys when he comes here in November. I'm just a lucky girl!

Sherry, I am truly thankful for everything that you have done on whatthefolk. It is so cool to see the archives from five years ago. It's amazing to see how far they've come and to see how you followed everything over the years. It's just incredible. You rock.

Take care everyone.

Hi shianne!
Sherry has indeed built a great site, she is the original high priestess of the conchords I believe :prayer:
Lucky you seeing the boys live.........
My brother and his wife moved from Paris (the French one) to Alexandria last summer and love it there (friendly people, great weather, etc...)

My mother lives in Alexandria! It's great that your brother loves it here. It's getting pretty crowded and it's always rush hour, but I guess that comes with the territory. You should come visit;)

No, that's from a Nintendo Wii. They're called Miis. You can create them and use them to play games. I'm a huge nerd obviously.

No way!! I love Old Town. I lived there for a year with my mother on S. Royal St when I was 13 (I was kind of a bad kid). She moved to a bigger place a few years ago. It's such a great little city. Right by the water, great shopping and nice old buildings (well, old for US). I can totally see why your brother loves it here. I hope you visit him soon.

Edited to correct street name

They live on Prince Street (looks gorgeous!)

My daughter (known here as little DP) tried making Bret and Jemaine Miis, but (and I wouldn't tell her that!) yours are much better!!

And hello back :)

And thank you for all the nice things you said about the site *blushes* Glad to know people still look back in the archives. The site has certainly grown in the past few years.

Hope you are enjoying the forum :)

Well thank you! Unfortunately I can't take credit for them. A very talented "Mii Artisan" created them and I just copied. I actually improved Bret a little bit since I made them.

I am definitely enjoying the forum. Thank you. The archives are great. I've only heard of FotC since the HBO premiere last year in June, so it's a great way to see how they have evolved. I hope other noobs like me take a look. It's very interesting.
