This is my first post. Well i'm a fan from Chile in south america. Spanish is my native language so sorry about my lame english!.
I've been watching The Conchords since last year, I recently discovered they were known before the hbo series!! and i think they are pure genious and i'm starting to love New Zealand too xD .
Well since they are completely unknown here the only way i can watch the episodes are downloading them from the net (sorry about the piracy..).
The language barrier is very big i think but i have managed to understand the meaning of every song and gag becouse i understand english and also becouse some people have done subtitles for the episodes. But i see very litle posibilities for them to be known here, so i guess i'll just have to dream on seeing them live some day xD . Let's hope they take vacations some day and travel here xD . This is a beautiful country and i'll be probably the only one recognizing them xD.
Ok, see ya guys and i hope i could meet kind people here.
I think HBO or someone did do a Spanish language dubbed version of the show, at least the first season, so you may eventually have some luck getting to see more of them or at least being able to spread the love for them!

well i don't know if Hbo actually subbed the first season or if they plan to show them in latin america. I know that there are a few people who actually know the show and consider them as a weird musical cult thing. (if you don't speak english at all it's very difficult to understand many of the jokes even if they are subbed, all the new zealand / australian jokes would be lost for example.). Anyway there are always appearing subs for this season, mainly made by spanish fans. So i'll stick around to them for now.
There are a number of fans from New Zealand who can help if you need phrases translated. You seem to have a good command of the English language, but if you need help with anything, don't be afraid to ask.
It's so great to see that FoTC has fans all over the world!
