I've never been to Greece, but I have warm memories of that wonderful place because of my daughter. She was finishing up her semester in London, and her final trip before leaving Europe was to Greece. As she was leaving and headed to the airport, she realized she needed to stop at an ATM to get cash to pay her cab driver. She had him pull over at an ATM. Her card wouldn't work!

The cabbie took her to another ATM, reassuring her, saying sometimes they were temperamental. The second one didn't work either. Now she was in danger of missing her flight that was connecting her to her flight home. She was 19, in a foreign country, and she had no cash. The cab driver told her not to worry, and he took her to the airport - for free. Through her tears, she thanked him for his kindness, and then he gave her the equivalent of ten dollars to help her get around. She could not believe what a wonderful person he was. Her only regret was in her haste to make the plane, she forgot to take down his name and address so she could pay him back. We'll always remember Greece as the place where Amy found true kindness, so it holds a special place in my heart.
