James Bobin: “It’s like a five-year-old and a three-year-old. Jemaine’s the five-year-old, and Bret’s the three-year-old. They’re both wrong, but the five-year-old thinks he’s right.”

I got the feeling that the writer likes them, actually. :) He says that they are sharp-witted NZ'ers who play "dim-witted boobs." I'd have preceed that with sweet and naive and left off 'boobs." :D

And as their characters, they do come off as awkward and I agree that if Bret and Jemaine on the show ever achieve success it'd kind of ruin things. :) (If the show continues, of course.)

I read it as complimentary. :)

it's probably just me, but it sounds more like a backhanded compliment.

Seemed like a rave that captured their off-kilter spirit pretty well.
