I'm told it is available on "HBO On Demand" or you can watch it here:

Favourite part: Jemaine falling asleep. Image

That was really awesome! Thanks Dandy Lyon for posting this!!!!

By the looks of it, most of the stuff was filmed before the first season even aired, before they turned into the phenomenon that they are now. Both of them become more adorable with every interview/video/article!

You had hints of how hard making the show was through other media, but this really showed how much work went into it. Their writing room, with all of the post-its everywhere and the three of them just sitting there trying to think of things to be funny. That must be such a draining process.

Yes, Jemaine falling asleep was outstanding. As was him lying on the floor playing guitar... there is just something about his voice that gets me, even when he is just singing notes. Normally Bret seems to take the lead in interviews, but he seemed much more vulnerable in this doc. It just seemed like their guards were down, more so than in other interviews. There were just so many moments you wouldn't get to see anywhere else because Hannah filmed/directed it (and she did an outstanding job at that!).

Favourite moment by far though was when they walked into the venue in Seattle. You can hear Jemaine off-camera going "holy sh*t" and laughing to himself, while Bret's face was priceless when they are talking about how fast their show sold out. Its like they realizing for the first time how popular they are, and will be. So happy I got to see it!

Oooo thank you for this :)

Some of the footage looks very familar to me :hrm: The radio stuff and a few other bits.

This is the one made by Hannah is see. And a few other NZ names I recognise in the credits :)

When they hear the screams as they're being introduced, Jemaine visibly jumps - did you notice the way they look at each other before walking through the door? It really brings it home that they worked for so many years before making it big - was also seriously impressed by the work that went into the TV series. Makes me appreciate them all the more

<but also feel slightly guilty that, were geography ever to allow it, I might one day be one of the screaming fans that gave Jemaine such a shock  >

The minute after I saw this on HBO On Demand last night, I thought to myself "I'll bet there will be some conversation about THIS on the WTF forums!" There was some familiar footage from the radio interview on KROQ, was it? I'd say one of my favorite parts is when the cast was around the table reading their lines. Jemaine sleeping sitting up was really cute, of course. I can do that--I wonder if it is a common trait among we who are "generally lazy"?

 I have just noticed that Jemaine, with that beard, bears a striking resemblance to my chap's best mate, Adam. Admittedly it's because the beard covers up some of J's most characteristic features, but still... <wonders if Adam would mind me squinting oddly at him now and again...>

The stuff about Brent and Jamaal made me sad coz I am totally one of those people who feel like they know them.
In other news, I am liking James Bobin.

I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary. When they walk on-stage in Atlanta at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, I'll bet they'll still say "oh sh*t", only because it's so, so beautiful.

This was a very fun doc. Was it only shown in NZ? What took it so long to get out??

I loved how they seemed to be totally sideswiped by fame. They seemed to have been enjoying the ride back then. I wonder how they stand on the whole fame game now.

Yes, Woman in the park, I agree with you. James Bobin is a cutie. :eyelashes: All three seem to really have a great chemistry together. James even sounded a bit like "Murray" with quiting time! Nice touch.
