FOTC Poetry Thread

Postby songbird » Tue Jun 09, 2009 5:05 pm

Ok, so lately we've been seeing quite a few poems about the guys pop up, and I thought it would be good to have a place to keep them all :D

Anybody who has written or found some sort of poetry about FOTC, feel free to post here!

Yay :D I've been going back and forth between the discussion threads looking for new poetry.

Here's mine:

A tall, doe-eyed fellow from Welly
Sets butterflies loose in my belly
A sprinkle of scruff
Is just the right stuff
To turn a girl's knees into jelly

I really got inspired to write some more poetry now... I used to all the time when I was younger, but then I sort of just stopped for no reason. I guess Bret is my muse

Wrote one for Murray:

Leads the band meetings
Had a budgie but it died
He likes leggy blondes

Not very good, but it's been years since I wrote one. It's harder than I remember. Wanted a line about ginger balls, but it ended up being too many syllables.

Haikus are 3 lines long. First line has 5 syllables, second 7 syllables, and the third 5 again. They're fun to write but hard because they are short, so you have to get creative.

I call this... "Bret's Eyes" (I believe this was inspired while looking at that really close-up/intense shot you find frequently on the Bret Photo Thread. You know the one?)

There once was a man named Bret
Whose eyes were a *beautiful* set.
A mixture of fire,
And loving desire,
No woman could ever forget!

Simply titled: "JEMAINE."
Jemaine's black glasses are square,
And a similar hue to his hair.
With brown eyes (or green)
(If you know what I mean)
All we can do is stare.

I really need pictures to better convey the imagery.... :hrm:

NOW, for haikus! Yeah!

BRET:
All hail the Boom King,
The Rhymenoceros, and of course,
The Prince of Parties.

JEMAINE:
Also Big J, the
Hiphopopotamus, and
My favorite, "Snake Hips."

Albi The Racist Dragon-Inspired
Albi was racist.
He liked to burn small children.
It's all settled now.
continuation/clarification
See Albi and the
Badly burnt Albanian boy
Enjoy Marmalade.
He's gonna wake up in a smoothie.

Raven: :prayer:

My first haiku (I hope):

A sight for sore eyes
Greater still what lies beneath
You guys make me laugh

Biscuit: Sigh,... perfect. :prayer:

(BDS, one of my favorites too)

Raven: I'm still cracking up over Albi, Parts 1 and 2! Are 3, 4 & 5 still in the works? :albi:

Thank you, Non-ob:)

I'm enjoying this whole haiku thing. The one about BDS uses my favourite lines (the ones I always start singing at) to describe how Jem looks at Bret before they start singing:)

And another one:

Where would he go to
If he could jet anywhere?
