Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Hugh Laurie, Halle Berry, Ricky Gervais, Daniel Radcliffe, Jon Hamm and Martha Stewart are among the guest voices in the upcoming 22nd season of THE SIMPSONS premiering Sunday, Sept. 26 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In “Elementary School Musical,” the season premiere episode, MARGE (Julie Kavner) sends LISA (Yeardley Smith) to a performing arts camp where artsy counselors (guest voices Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie of “Flight of the Conchords”) and fellow musically inclined campers (guest voices Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley of GLEE) inspire her to embrace her creative side. After she returns to Springfield, Lisa becomes restless with her ho-hum suburban lifestyle and catches the first bus to Sprooklyn in hopes of reconnecting with her inner hipster.

Please let this be a good episode. I used to love the Simpsons back in the day but it has, erm, lost it's edge somewhat over the last decade. I am always happy to hear about Bret and Jemaine working together, though. :thumb:

I don't watch the Simpsons. Mainly because its on Sky over here and we don't get that. However, if its on a C4 when I am channel surfing it usually stays on. But old episodes from years ago.

I'm going to make the effort and try to see this sometime soon after it airs.

Bummer. I don't have a recorder on my comp, but you can bet I'll have it on my dvr. Wanna come over?

I've only ever watched the Simpsons a couple of times :worry: ...but I love Glee. (I love Mr. Shu) Do they often have guest stars do voices? Do the guest stars ever play 'themselves' on the episode and do they look like themselves?

Artsy camp counselors. I hope Bret doesn't kick any kids.

Bret (and Jemaine) should guest star on Glee! :D

Ditto that! I love Glee! (and I'm kinda into Mr. Schu!) :yay: :worry: I'd be bowled over if Bret and Jemaine made a guest appearance on that show!

I just got this texted to my mobile. I wonder if this means new original songs?

Excerpt from interview:

"Al Jean:Elementary School Musical, written by Tim Long, has Lisa spending a week at arts camp, where Jemaine and Bret are the counselors, featuring original songs by the Conchords. When Lisa returns to real life, she is very unhappy, until she visits Jemaine and Bret at home and discovers the life of an artist isn't all it's cracked up to be.''
