Futile Attraction - Audio Pride & Prejudice scene

Postby 4everconchordsfan » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:20 am

Im having a rough day with technology. I cant seem to get capture wiz to record both audio & video. I've done several projects using this software previously, this is soooo frustrating.

Anwho, I did get audio recorded and thought you might like to hear it. I'll keep working on getting the vid/audio entirely uploaded.

The audio is from the bonus features on the Futile Attraction dvd. In bonus features there is a section where Jemaine & cast members do a read through for a Pride & Prejudice scene in the movie. You never see it, you only hear it in the movie. The movie = guy meets girl through a dating service = reality tv = disaster. Guy gets date, rents dvd Pride & Prejudice then takes her back to his place to see it. That is the point in the movie where you are introduced to Jem & Bret in Pride & Prejudice.

edit: Bret is not prisint for read through of this scene.

A couple pics so that you can see the set-up they had:

Thanks 4ever! I watched Futile Attraction awhile ago through my Netflix instant viewing option but I didn't know they had bonus features. Had I known, I would have rented the DVD. Jemaine's American accent is so believable, I couldn't tell which voice was his and which was Bret's in the movie.

Thanks for this 4ever! I watched it on NetFlix instant as well. No extras. :? I forget, wasn't Jemaine portraying Freddy Prince Jr portraying Mr. Darcy? Heehee nice little dig at US film making. So was it Bret or this dude in the final movie version? I listened to that bit of the movie over and over and I could tell it was Jemaine but wasn't sure on the Wickham voice. Um, what did you guys think about this movie? I think my biggest (and maybe only) laugh came from the background diners at the first date restaurant. OK I may have snickered at a couple other bits but mostly I was :eh: . I found it quite distracting that the girl's name was Germaine. Something about hearing that name in that accent kept startling me. Is it a common female name in NZ?

 The vid of that was going around last year. It's probably still out there somewhere. I think Jemaine's accent vacillates from pretty darned awful to not half bad.

Now that I've listened to it a few more times, his voice for Mr. Darcy sounds almost the same as his voice for the Tongan ninja.

:purple: Awesome. Thanks for sharing this, 4ECF. Hearing Jemaine do a comic version of Mr. Darcy has long been a dream of mine, lol. ;)

His accent was better than the other guy's, who still had a hint of NZ while at times sounding a bit like a cowboy...

Just a bit too corny for me....
