Did anybody see this?

Fox unveils 2011-12 fall and midseason schedules
NAPOLEON DYNAMITE
Based on the hit film, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE is an animated series that follows the continuing adventures of America’s most awesome awkward teenager and his quirky family and friends as they struggle to navigate small-town life in rural Idaho. The original cast from the film – Jon Heder, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, Tina Majorino, Sandy Martin, Jon Gries and Diedrich Bader – will voice their characters in the series, and many new characters will be added along the way. NAPOLEON DYNAMITE (Heder) is a 16-year-old boy convinced – for no apparent reason – that he is destined for greatness and blessed with unlimited “sweet abilities.” He spends his days practicing ninja moves, drawing ligers, soul dancing and bragging about his “girlfriend in Oklahoma” whom nobody has ever seen. Napoleon’s brother, KIP (Ruell), is an unemployed 32-year-old who lives at home and believes he would be an amazing catch for any girl who would respond to his online come-ons. The Dynamite brothers live with GRANDMA (Martin), a crusty woman who can often be found four-wheeling with her lady friends at the local sand dunes. Napoleon’s allies include PEDRO (Ramirez), his unflappable best friend who has recently been elected class president; and DEB (Majorino), an incredibly sweet girl who sees the good in Napoleon and dreams of someday being his wife. Napoleon’s UNCLE RICO (Gries) lives out of an orange custom van, where he obsesses over his botched high school football career and dreams up ways to become rich and famous. Then there’s REX KWON DO (Bader), a self-proclaimed martial-arts master who runs the local dojo. Guest voices in the debut season include Jennifer Coolidge (“American Pie,” “Legally Blonde”), Sam Rockwell (“Choke”) and Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”).

Being the only person in America who hasn't seen Napoleon Dynamite, maybe I'll have to watch it now.... :)

8) It's like a Gentlemen Broncos reunion.

I can see it as a cartoon series. It is neat that the Gentleman Broncos cast en masse makes an appearance in the show's debut episode. :D

FOX released a video sample of the series. No discernible Jemaine that I could see in the trailer, (though his guest appearance is mentioned in every article I've seen) but the promise of beautiful music is promising. :D I gotta say, I do like the animation style. They really captured the original characters.

Trailer here

It seems natural that the Gentleman Broncos folks would fit here....so might the Eagle vs Shark peeps. :)

Isn't Midseason January?

I really like the animation, too, nonch. :thumb:
Can't wait to see how they use the Gentlemen Broncos crew.

There is a lot of info and some clips from the animated series coming out of Comic Con.

Clips here.

That's not Jemaine as Chester the Liger in the last clip, is it? Looks like the series airs in January. :)

It sounded just like Jemaine to me at first...and the more I listened, the more unsure I was.

I think it's him... :P

The dance scene in Dyamite is worth watching as is Uncle Kip's courtship. The rest of the movie I kind of appreciated, growing up in a small, weird town, but didn't really warm to.

Maybe animation will do the material more justice.

Well after further research, I don't think that was Jemaine as Chester the Liger after all. It was probably the also deep, velvety voiced, Diedrich Bader. (Their voices were certainly separated at birth) He talks about voicing a Liger King in this clip. http://www.movieweb.com/tv/TVLilpjkIZw8 ... rich-bader

A tiny blurb about Jemaine's bit in this series:

Jermaine Clement, Amy Poehler, Sam Rockwell and others will be appearing in the first six episodes.

Clement plays a teacher on the show that brings in an experimental computer to pick their mates.

My first thought was, I wonder if they are using "mates" the way the Kiwi's use it or as in 'future sexual partner'?
