Heee... I seem to have coined a new word. :D Also known as The M Word.

I'm guessing - and this is just a guess - but the commercials were likely filmed a while ago. A few years back, a friend was in a Bud Light commercial and it was filmed well in advance of the initial airing - which coincidentally also aired during the Super Bowl. He didn't know until it aired if it was going to be shown during the game or not, so it was a great surprise when it was. It also meant more money for him than if it had aired any other time.

So I would venture to guess that the commercials were filmed before filming for Eagle v. Shark began. And the mullette was the start of the mullet we saw later on. I imagine the mullet is history now that filming for Eagle v. Shark is done.

Zut alors! La mullette est tres gauche!

Unless he liked the look so much that he decided to keep it......(NOOOOO!!!!!)

I like the word "mullette." It's the female version of mullet, and some females are sporting that look as well.

I doubt seriously that he would keep it. *crosses finger, toes, legs, arms, eyes, hair*

Thanks for the affirmation, JP.

And with that, I have to go to bed! Must... work... in... morning... Ugh.

But, I will have candy-colored dreams tonight. This night will be remembered as the Year of the Lovely Super Bowl Surprise. Or something like it - needs work.

Good night my friends! Sweet dreams!

Yes it needs to be something simple like

The Year of the Two Different Outback Steakhouse Commercials that Featured Jemaine One With a Boomerang and the Other With Some Shrimp That We Were All Surprisingly Totally Shocked to See Especially Because it Was During Super Bowl XL Which Means Cool But at the Same Time Maybe Not So Cool Because He Might Even Become More Famous and "Sell Out" Leaving All the Fringe Fans In the Cold Because He Was Featured In Those Two Outback Steakhouse Commercials Even Though He Was Sporting A Mullette These Things Could Still Happen Year

See how it just rooooolllllss off the tongue.Much better I think

G'night Gayle

Hmmmm They seem to have corrected themselves somewhat. At least they confused him for an Aussie which I'll accept, at least on the terms of the theme of the restaurant.

if you go here -

http://www.outbacksteakhouse.com/contactus/index.asp

and then select 'commercials' from the menu you can let outback know what you think about these commercials and their new spokesman.

you can also go here -

http://www.ifilm.com/superbowl?htv=12

and view his commercials and download them to an ipod. while your there you can also rate the commercial which seems to need some help at the moment w/ only 2 stars out of 5.

Thats funny  I awoke to a fair few emails on the matter oddly enough. Its quite popular this Superbowl thing eh :puzzled:

Jemaine does a pretty bad Aussie accent. I'm being kind about that too :rolls: All of the TV viewing US will think thats how Australians speak now  On the flip side, all of the TV viewing US will think Jemaine is an Aussie

The Aussie stereotype is a surfer type with a tan :que: Somehow I can't see that working in Outback ads. I mean a man dressed only in a pair of shorts and little else.... :hrm:

No one said anything about not being able to swoon. So please don't feel you cannot. The BT thread might be locked, and I might try to keep topical threads from veering too far off topic etc, but its not a 'No Swoon' zone.
