I wonder if you're thinking he looks thinner due to lack of beard (which made his face look bigger) coz we can't see much of his body and actually I thought his body has been looking quite thin for some time. Remember that photo from central park for example, he looked very thin in the middle.

I'm seeing it in his chest, shoulders, and arms. Overall, it adds up to a reedier Jemaine than I've seen in awhile. But then, it could be the angle of the shot. Maybe it's a photoshop - his face on someone else's body? I can't remember the Central Park photo.

I like the new beardless look more than I thought. Gives him a kind of Benicio del Toro/Russell Brand kind of edgy sexiness.

SW I think you are right. The pic in Central Park definitely shows him lean and mean. And the angle and lighting is so strange in the other pic, that must be why I have problems with it all the way around.

I am so looking forward to more recent pics now that his face is visible again and not behind a hairy shield.

I shouldn't be studying that pic so hard, lol. His arm looks so damn tan and his neck looks so white....and his left eye closes more than his right.

That could be due to the lighting. I'm surprised at the lack of a visible tan line on his face, lol.

He should've saved the beard so it could be in a Hollywood museum some day.

Also - does anyone else think it's weird that it's a photo of a picture on a monitor?

I've looked at the pic quite a few times and am not sure how I feel about it yet. He does look younger though - and I did at first think it was an old photo from him Humourbeasts days or something.


You're right! And yes, it is weird. There are lots of things about this pic that seem somehow weird to me.

Still, it is good to see a recent pic. Beyond being too busy to think, let alone drool, I think the overabundance of FUZZ was ultimately a bit of a turnoff for me. Or maybe I just missed his lips...

It is weird...I keep thinking it's a photoshop but then I feel guilty for thinking that, lol..... Pretty sad when he's had that furry face-mop for so long that I can't tell if that's his current face or an older one!

I just asked Jacob what he thinks of this pic and he said "That's a photoshop!"

I don't think it's a monitor - I think it's a mirror. It's vertical rather than horizontal for one thing, and it's a good way to take a photo of yourself (and Jem!) without having to do the whole stretch your arm out/awkward angle thing. The camera must be below the frame of the mirror which is why you can't see it - that'd be why it's angled up a bit. It also explains why it's out of focus - it's almost impossible to get an in-focus shot in a mirror!

Maybe Nonch is on the right track with her 'waiting for his favourite stylist' idea - perhaps this was taken at a hairdressers - cos that would explain the presence of a mirror!

It looks like it was taken in a mirror but it's not a reverse image & from my experience I've never had difficulty focusing when taking photos in mirrors. The quality is quite poor even for a bad camera phone so I really have no idea what's going on. I don't think it's a photoshop but it is one odd photo. The hair on the left side of his head looks weird & the way he's standing cracks me up.

But she says she saw him by Shake Shack. If she were in a hairdresser's.......? I want to see another recent pic, darn it! One where he's had a bit of a haircut.....
