What the Folk!

I thought I would create a spot for the adventures of our cats called Bret and Jemaine. They are both rescue kittens that we picked up a week before we went to the Conchords concert in 2012, which is why my kids named them Bret and Jemaine. Unfortunately, they both turned out to be girls!!!! I was certain they both had little sugarlumps but on closer inspection by the vet they turned out to be just coloured balls of fur in a particular spot on their bodies!!!

Thankfully the vet felt sorry for us and gave us a discount on their 'operation'..... So they are now gender-neutral anyway!!! We weren't changing the names!!!

When the kids decided to call them Bret and Jemaine I didn't argue, as my obsessed brain quickly turned to conversation starters when I could go to work every morning and proclaim "I haven't had any sleep all night because Bret and Jemaine jumped into bed with me last night!!!! Bret was playing with my hair and Jemaine kept licking my toes!!" Yep, this could work well!!!!

Anyway, turns out they have bret and Jemaine personalities too, so I will share with u!!!!

Yes they are both very special :-) I did do the Bowie thing on purpose :-p we found out one night (accidentally) that Bret comes when we call him like that!! :-p

Such pretty "ladyman" kitties! It's a wonder they don't go blind staring into that lamp. Never a dull moment around the house when you have cats, that's for sure.

Cats are awesome, and very entertaining. Just to be fair, my dog Frankie is awesome, and she loves her feline siblings...loves to play with them and cuddle.

The latest instalment from Bret. He's very talented you know!!!

Actually gotta tell an embarrassing tale too..... Was watching 'deleted scenes' on ye ole FOTC DVD on a rainy day and felt a little embarrassed!!! Don't know why I didn't realise sooner, but OMG..... I am OFFICIALLY worse than Mel!!! There was a scene when Bret and Jemaine were staying with Mel and Doug after they were kicked out and Mel peeps through the hole in the wall. Then she puts the picture back over the hole and says "Doug, I want to ask you something" and he says "Yes Mel, I put cat Jemaine and Cat Bret out before I came upstairs". HOW EMBARRASSING!!!

Nah, I think I still would have called them Bret and Jemaine even if I had remembered Mel had them too!!

I must say though, it is a little weird that Cat Bret loves playing the keyboard and Cat Jemaine is not as interested!! Cat Bret cuddles but if Cat Jemaine cant see Cat Bret he calls out to him. They are so sweet xxooxx
