History-based Conchords Parodies

Postby HistoricalConchords » Thu Aug 11, 2011 9:01 pm

To help us revise GCSE History, we began to parody Flight of the Conchords songs, basing them on historical events. For the moment they are largely about Nazi Germany, but also various other events and eras, such as the Reformation and Communist China.

Here's the link to our YouTube channel: HistoricalConchords- http://www.youtube.com/user/HistoricalC ... ature=mhee.
It features great songs such as Hitlerpotamus vs Weimarnocerous, Inner Kingdom Prussia and You Don't Have To Be A Protestant.

We hope you enjoy! :supz:

So, if you parody a parody band, do the parodies cancel each other out and it becomes serious again? :hrm: ;)

That was pretty funny guys. I liked "You Don't Have To Be a Protestant". :thumb:

I can't imagine how much time went into creating those! I've only had time to watch one or two so far, but I'm impressed. I wish I could understand the lyrics a bit better, I have a feeling they might be very informative. lol. I for one, would have enjoyed history a bit more had it been put to Conchords songs.

Are you guys big fans of FotC? Have you seen them perform live? How long did each video take to make?

Videos take about 5-10 hours of work, which is usually doubled by our terrible ability to get distracted.
We are big fans of the Conchords, but couldn't see them live as tickets for their UK tour took less than an hour to sell out on a Monday morning, when we were busy working in History.
I called my friends to say let's have a Putsch
But they're all too busy to have a Putsch
So I go by myself to have a Putsch
But I see all my friends, they're having a Putsch

It does looks as though each video must take a lot of time to film and edit. Good job!
