This song didn't appeal to me mush at first but i have come to love simplistic conversational lyrics and fluffy tune
I wanted to quote the song and went searching for the lyrics but couldn't find them so i thought i should write 'em up! No better way than to do it yourself, i suppose. So here you go... sorry if they aren't perfect
Jenny
B: Hello
J: Hi
B: Hello man sitting in the park
J: I just said hi, woman in the park
B: How you doin?
J: Mmmmmm good thanks
B: Your looking good
J: Pardon
B: I said you’re looking good
J: Fair enough
B: Jenny
J: Pardon
B: Jenny
J: No I am sorry I think u have mistaken me for somebody else
B: No it’s me, I’m jenny, my name is jenny
J: Ooohhhh You’re … ooohhh… Hahahaha… I thought… ooohhh… what a hilarious misunderstanding.
Nice to meet you jenny
B: We’ve met before - quite a few times actually
J: Yes of course we have. I meant it was nice to meet you that time that I met you. Where was it that we met that time that I met you when I met you?
B: At a party
J: That’s right! Wasn’t it one of those boring work parties?
B: No
J: That’s why I said wasn’t it?
It was the party of a mutual friend - was it? - wasn’t it? - was it? - wasn’t it?
B: Yes it was
J: Yyyeeeaaaahhhhh I thought so. Oooh Bobby’s?
B: No
J: Doug’s?
B: No
J: D-dog’s?
B: No
J: Maxwell’s?
B: No
J: Andy’s?
B: Yes Andy
J: Yeah Andy’s party, that’s right. Andy knows how to throw a party, doesn’t he Jenny?
B: I love Andy’s parties
J: What crazy parties, how is that guy anyway?
B: She’s good
J: Ooo that’s right, Andy hates it when I forget that
B: We watched a movie
J: Yyeeeaaaahhhhh it was something like but not necessarily Schindler’s List… we watched it and we wept
B: It was police academy four
We went for a walk
J: On our feet if I remember correctly
B: We walked to the top of the hill and we ate sandwiches
J: We’d just grab a sandwich and put it in our mouths - that’s the only way to have sandwiches. Ooo jenny, tell me do u still walk ? Do u still get into sandwiches in a big way?
B: Still walk a lot but I am not eating as many sandwiches as back then
J: Uhhh…
B: Do u remember what we did up there at the top of the hill?
J: Kind of
B: We were standing at the look out
J: I remember exactly what we did at the look out – we just looookkkeeedddd out… across the city from our little spot on the hilltop. It is so pretty from way up there. We talked about how the light from the buildings and cars seemed like reflections of the stars that shined out so pretty and bright, that night.
B: It was daytime
J: The day time of the nights
B: Do you remember what u said to me?
J: Not word for word actually jenny, but I remember there was some verbs.
B: Well u said meet me here in one year, u just needed some time to clear your head, and u seem to have done that.
J: La la la la la la la la la la la la la
B: We have a child
J: Paa-AAArdon
B: We have a child
J: Why didn’t u tell me jenny? Why didn’t u tell me that day when we went to the top of the hill and we made sweet, oh how we made such sweet sweet sandwiches. Does it have my eyes; my way with words? Does it look like me at all?
B: No, not at all ‘cause we adopted him. I can’t believe you don’t remember, it was a very difficult process
J: Ooo… llaaa… uuuhhhh….. ooowwwwww…uuuhhh
Are u sure that was me jenny?
B: Yes I am pretty sure that it was you John
J: I’m Brian
B: Oh my god! I’m so sorry
Now that’s terrible
J: Don’t worry
B: Oh how embarrassing
J: Don’t worry Jenny, I’m actually quite relieved
That kind of thing just happens all the time, I just got one of those faces I suppose
B: So does john, ha, he’s got one of those faces as well…
B&J: *Awkward laugher*
