okay, so it's finally (nearly) happening
tomorrow morning (early) I'm heading off to New Zealand!! wheee!
I've tried to keep my squeeing about it to a minimum, but I am ridiculously excited

I'm going over for 18 days, traveling by myself and just doing the North Island (DEFINITELY planning to go back and do the South Island some time hopefully not in the distant future ).

I'm flying into and out of Auckland, and except for a 3 day tour up the Northland (the pointy bit up the top) basically doing a rough anti-clockwise trip around the North Island. Besides Auck and the Northland I'll be going to Waitomo Caves, New Plymouth (Taranaki), Wellington (4 nights, hooray!), Napier, Rotorua, Coromandel Town (I think), and back to Auckland.

I'm seeing the Welly Intl Ukulele Orch in Auckland (tomorrow night!!!!) (possibly seeing Bret!!!!!), and a couple of nights later in Leigh with Great H, I'm also booked in to see a play at the BATS theatre in Welly, and Fat Freddy's Drop the next night.

Wow. I can't even believe it's happening.

Thank you so much to those of you who have expressed excitement for me, it really means a lot. I'm sorry if I haven't responded very frequently, as I said I've tried to keep my squeeing about it to a minimum, but I figure maybe this is the time and place, so....

WIUO gig was SO AWESOME. So awesome it was chawsome.
And YES! Bret was there!!
And he's obviously been paying attention to us, by popular demand he was wearing the pink shirt/ grey tie combo

Um... I'll update more about the gig in the WIUO thread (a bit, I've only got 1/2 hr on this machine).
But yeah, really loving Auckland. Great H met me at the airport (how cool is she?!?!) and took me to the top of Mt Eden to have a look before dropping me to my hostel. Brilliant.

I'm about to go try catch a ferry to an island I can't remember the name of in Auckland Harbour. Wish me luck
