Sort of a decision on FOTC Season 3 - From Reuters

Well, they're getting closer to either actually saying "no", or doing a very short series.

I'd love it if they did a one-off special type thing. (Christmas special?)

"Flight of the Conchords" averaged 3.1 million viewers per episode last season, in-line with Season 1, HBO said.

I knew they had a high viewership, but I had no idea it was THAT high...good onya boys!

Woah! Scary considering there's only 4 million people in New Zealand!

Poor for a network show, very solid for basic cable, great for a pay channel.

Obviously better than they'd hoped to get, lol.....you know if it'd been 1 million they would've been happy to just move on and HBO probably wouldn't have been as vocal to continue the show.

I thought they originally said that average viewership for S1 was 1 million. Now they are saying it was 3?

I think it's a little late in the day for them to have time to get an Xmas show together. But they could always do something like An FOTC Xmas in February.

I agree, SW, I was always under the impression that the viewership was 1 million viewers, if even that many. I never heard anywhere near 3 million. Something's off. :puzzled:

Same here. I thought I read in the past that FOTC averages about 1 million viewers in the US. :dunno:

Yeah, that number has to be off now that I think about it. I read somewhere that the first episode had 950,000 viewers...

And one million is still pretty great for a pay channel.

All I can remember is in that giant tennis interview, the interviewer says something about the American audience size almost being the size of the population of New Zealand, and then B&J say something along the lines of "Yeah, the population of 70s New Zealand." Anyway, I thought that the interviewer cited 3 million as the number of viewers. But was he talking about the first season or how the second season was fairing at that point or both, or did I make this up entirely? :hrm:

And I don't have access to Youtube at the mo. :bang:

Edit: Wait, no, google is saying one million.

I'm in agreement about the 1 million viewer figure, that jibes with what we've heard before.

Oh, and I wouldn't be opposed to a New Zealand-based Christmas Special... :)
