That's why a lot of people still use them in decor here.

Thanks MM! The bell has been rung; she wrote back right away and said "hospitality" as well! :D

The crystal pineapple is starting to make more sense. It was a very old proper southern lady that gave it to us.

My great grandmother had antique poster beds with carved wooden pineapples on the posters. I never thought about they symbolism, I'd seen a lot of similar designs. We always just liked it as kids. Now my cousin has them in her daughter's bedroom.

When I was three, my grandparents gave me these dolls that resembled them. They scared me so much that I stuck them under my chest of drawers. I'm scared they might still be there. :worry:

One year I was given a black, shiny leather jacket that looked like someone had flown it in from the 80s (in a very bad way) Both my sister and i could get in in at the same time. Anchor buttons:(

We looked like a fat 2 headed beetle! Not fantastic.....

Well now I just want to draw a scary face on my crystal pineapple but I'll resist. I think I'll make it a family heirloom and pass it down to my kids. She'll be Penelope the Pointless Pineapple. Perhaps I'll have Ben write her her own folklore song. :hrm:
