It's supposed to get up to 32F today here in Minneapolis. But it sure doesn't feel like it. More like 18F and damp. I'll take it. It's been below 0F for a good week. But the snow needs to melt. There are giant icy grooves that are passing for roads right now.

The highs are supposed to be in the lower 60s here this week and I'm glad. I live down here so I don't have to deal with freezing weather.

I actually have a broken internal thermostat, so this weather is perfect for me. Anything under 25C/77F and I'm all rugged up. As a matter of fact, I slept under the blankets last night at a comfortable 38C/110F.

Everyone around me, however, is complaining.

Only -25.6 here now! :D Yay! (-14 F)

Still a bit too cold to be comfortable outside though :P

42 sounds down right horrible to me.

Anything between 20 and 30 is fine. If anyone knows of a place with a median temperature like that, please let me know

San Diego, yes? Year round average temp of 75 or so. Perfect.

Is it humid in Australia during this heat wave? I find humidity is what really makes things bad. Heat on it's own I can deal with. But when our summers are hot here, they are humid as well.

It's about 36 degrees here today which feels like a heat wave and finally the temperature in my apartment has gotten up to a comfortable level. I'm back to wearing my flip flops in the house as opposed to 2 pairs of socks with still freezing feet. Yis!

In Galway, Ireland it's currently 0 degrees Celsius and today was the first day in about 3 weeks that there was no ice or frost on the ground. Also there's a special news show on the TV right now talking about how the weather is seriously effecting everything here. Good toimes!

Nope, not unless you are in certain parts of the Northern Territory or Queenland. Have a look at this pic to show where its tropical.

Many areas are just a bone dry baking heat. The outback is like nowhere else. Atm its been over 40C during the day in hubbys hometown for ages. They often get dust storms off the outback blowing down into Adelaide on top of the heat. Days of red dust choking things up. Or else bush fires blowing smoke down. Its why most of the populated areas are down south or on the east coast. Or round the coastline.

Uhh more than anyone needed to know if they didn't already  :worry:

High of 22 in MI today, we're supposed to start warming up tomorrow. Just seeing the sun today made me feel a bit warmer. We've been below normal temps of late (like lots of you!) but are supposed to be near 40 on Thurs! It'll feel like spring......for a minute.

Whenever I feel too cold, I think "at least I'm not living where biscuit is...." :worry:
Sorry, girl. Can't wait to see what your summer will be like!

Thanks for that, Sherry. You're more dedicated than I am to dishing out information. :roll2:

But yeah, that summed it up nicely. I live down in Victoria and it's reasonably dry here. We're in a drought and it's bush fire season, alas. There was an evacuation just a week ago, as a matter of fact, about fifteen minutes from where I live. A twelve year old started a fire, as you do. :|

But whenever I'm up in Queensland it's very muggy and very humid. Such a sticky heat.

Hahaha  I'm glad my Arctic conditions bring you comfort, Laura.

Summer up here is the only reason for enduring the winter. I can't wait for the warm and sunny nights!! :D

It's been raining all day today. Very depressing. I don't think it's going to clear up until Sunday. On the plus side, the temps going to be in the 60s this week. :)

We're supposedly around 4C right now. Last night, we had some rain, but that seemed to turn to snow at some point, because when I went to bed and was closing the blinds, I looked down and everything was white! It took me a moment to realized that, "Hey! That's new!" The last batch of snow only recently started to disappear. When I got up this morning, though, it was all gone and you'd never have known it snowed at all. In fact, the last bit of slippery ice seems to be disappearing, too, so taking the dog out wasn't quite so treacherous. Now, it seems to be drizzling off and on.
