So I crocheted these Bret and Jemaine beer cozies. What do you guys think?
I think Jemaine needs his lips. I tried to embroider him some, but it was hard and they didn't look quite right, so I might cut some out from felt.
And if I get really frisky, I might try making some instruments for them, either crocheted or from felt. :D

Wow, I'm impressed. And you're right, Jemaine needs some lips. But other than that those are awesome! :D

Funny S, those are fabulous! You even got Jemaine's eyebrow raised. Well done! You should submit a picture for the fan art section of their website or something.

What Red said! :supz:  Those are awesome!
Too bad they don't make little lips like they do plastic googly-eyes...you could just glue some on...

I have done amigurumi crochet before and I am blown away by this!

I don't think he needs lips - you do an excellent job of suggesting his face - maybe just a line with 2 little gappy teeth? If that, I think he's perfect. And the bottle cozy's pretty nice, too!

thank you, I'll be here all week.

Thanks everyone! :D
I've crocheted some animal beer cozies before, but this was my first attempt at people and I'm really please with how they turned out.
I'm still going back and forth about whether to put lips on J or not. Maybe I'll photoshop some on him to see how they would look.

I'll probably send a photo of them to Jemaine. Hopefully he'll be so impressed by my crocheting skills that he'll write back

Nonch, yes that is Jemaine's sugalumps outfit. It was hard to decide what he would be wearing. Bret's outfit was a no brainer, but Jemaine doesn't really have an outfit or shirt that people identify with him. I thought about putting him in all blues (denim) or attempting to make it look like he was wearing a button down shirt, or a jacket, but ultimately I took the easy way out and put him in a t-shirt.
(maybe I should've crocheted a naked Jemaine? :worry: )

I would take orders but, I'm starting school again next week and won't have much time for crocheting. You'd probably be waiting until summer for them. :P

Oh funny schipperke, those are little bit of all right. The faces are absolutely PERFECT, right down to the hairlines and facial hair. How long did it take you to make them?

I would say Bret took a couple of hours... he was pretty easy, just a lot of color changes on his shirt. Jemaine, on the other hand,... I think I had to start him over at least five or six times because I couldn't get his sideburns right. But once I got them down, the rest of him was easy peasy. 8)

I tell you what - you should make up a pattern and sell it! On etsy, maybe?
That way people could riff off it, change the colors, tweak it, or just make them right from the pattern. I would so buy a pattern.

I haven't worked on something like that in years, but I always said the way to make money is crafts is not to make a lot of crafts, but have a run of great patterns. You've got one right there. Not that it's all about the Benjamins, mind you, but I think it's got a great appeal!
