I tell you what - you should make up a pattern and sell it! On etsy, maybe?
That way people could riff off it, change the colors, tweak it, or just make them right from the pattern. I would so buy a pattern.

I haven't worked on something like that in years, but I always said the way to make money is crafts is not to make a lot of crafts, but have a run of great patterns. You've got one right there. Not that it's all about the Benjamins, mind you, but I think it's got a great appeal!

That's a great idea, MM... if only I had a clue how to write a pattern!
I always just make stuff up as I go along. With the beer cozies, I just keep a beer bottle nearby and try the cozy on it every few rows to know if I need to increase or decrease stitches.
Afterwards, I'll think to myself, "I should've written that down for when I make this again," but then I never remember to actually do that. If I did write it down, I doubt anyone would understand it but me.
I've never been good with patterns. Anytime I've tried to make something from a pattern it comes out crazy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! :D
I hope Jemaine likes them as much as you all do. (And Bret, if he gets to see them.)

FunnyS, I love the beer cozies! It's sooo obviously B & J, with or without the J's lips. And I love your choice of outfits.

But, um... I realize I'm Canadian and everything but, um...why would you want your beers to be cozy, eh?!?!? Don't you want them cold?? :drinkers: :partyman:

Cold, cozy, and making us think of Bret and Jemaine as we drink beer. It's a good thing! :thumb: :D
(They'd also work with Jones Soda....root beer still in bottles....um....teriyaki sauce, lol, for those who don't drink beer....) ;)

They're usually insulated to keep beer cold and to keep your hands dry and comfy. Most of the time it's 90 to 100 degrees here so steps must be taken to keep things cold.

Yep, what Red said. It's like koozies for cans, except these are for bottles.
Or, you could put them on empty bottles and just have them on display. :P

Yeah, do you have to keep switching colors or do you go back and add that in when the cozy's done? Would you be willing to show the inside?

The hair and face are done at the same time, just switch yarn colors. The eyes and Jemaine's glasses were added afterwards.
Feel free to ask me any questions if you want to try and make your own. I'll try to explain it as best I can.

I recently made this owl wine bottle cozy for the secret santa exchange with my friends:

And a bunch of other beer cozies I've made:

Lol! No, I just pictured non-drinkers trying to come up with bottles they could display Bret and Jemaine on.....

that would be hardcore, huh? I do like it in place of soy sauce, tho...

FS- I just hate changing colors and then weaving in the loose danglies. How do you do it? Do you use knots? Or just weave it on the backside?

I hate weaving them in, too, so I crochet over them as I go along. 8)
