I am totally into Sophie Madeleine now after being introduced to her by Venus in NY with this video.

It's fun to play and I'm learning several of her songs. Love her. Love them. They are talented, funny and there's a UKE!

This was a really cool project from Sophie, and more of her stuff. http://www.youtube.com/user/misssophiemadeleine

I don't know if anyone has embedded any of the Garfunkel and Oates stuff, but it's beyond wonderful too. Secret Cheri had me rolling with these. :roll2:

I  Kate Micucci.

Go ukes! :supz:

Yay, glad you're enjoying Rocky and Balls and Sophie Madeleine's stuff! I found out about them through Uke Hunt and I've been playing I Heart You Online on the uke for a while now and I agree that it's so much fun to play.

I'm glad you like it, kipples. Maybe a couple of us could try a duet, harmonies and stuff, if biscuit still has the ability to pair up two videos? With just a few phrase changes...the song could work nicely for the forum. :D Where is biscuit anyway? :stick:

I have also been working on Hey, Soul Sister, and was amazed to see the uke in the acoustic video is just like my new (used) Fender tenor . 8)

I want to point that camera right at the uke. It's just four chords. E, B, C#m and A. He is barring the E and I get a severe cramp in my hand trying to do it. It's really the only way to change from a B to an E and back that quickly though. Did you use those chords, LauraK or are there alternates?

Je suis ici, mes amies ;)

I Love You Online was really sweet and catchy

I think I could still merge two recordings, if I can find the programme I used.. I've changed computers since working on it last year. Or maybe it's on hubby's in which case I'll be happy to help you anytime after 12th October :)

Did I use those chords, lol....you're funny nonch!

No. No way did I use those chords. I have real trouble with E and B. I found barring the 4th fret and hitting the 7th with pinky works, it doesn't sound quite the same....and it's hard!

Here are the super-easy chords I used:

That was cool, kipples. :)

Heh, heh. Yes, that was much easier with C, G, Am and F. :worry: Thanks, Laura. :D How does the dude in the video make it look so easy? :dunno: What are you playing now?

Cuz he's a pro and has innate talent- like you and others have. 8) I just enjoy myself.

I'm kind of all over right now....Jason Mraz's I'm Yours (also w/ easy chords found at UkeHunt) Teenager in Love, Tim Minchin's Not Perfect (which also describes how I play that song, but I LOVE it), The Glory of Love, Dream a Little Dream of Me....(playing this song at the proper speed, lol.)

You play quite well, Laura you big tranny ho. Whacho talkin bout? :P

I'll bet The Glory of Love is fun. It's funny cuz my UAS is flaring up and I adore Bette Midler, check out the UAS thread for my latest coveted uke.

I'm seriously ODing on Sophie Madeleine right now. I bought all of her recordings, and have learnt to play all of her songs (somewhat).

This one is close to my heart, for obvious reasons.

Chords

But this one is my favorite to play  and the song reminds me of Bret's ridiculous love song to Coco. (and it's about a uke)

Chords

It has lots of tricky (for me) chord changes and fun strums. The F (with added 1st string) switch to Fm is killing me, but I love a challenge. So fun. I just wish I could sing, then I would record it. Her voice is so beautiful.

Oh! And Venus, did you know that Sophie played a gig in New York City on September 10th!!?!?!?!?! :| We just missed her.

I'm a tranny ho, too?? :*-) (That's a happy tear.)

Hm, I saw Bette Midler on Ellen with her sparkly uke....I'm very curious to see what your heart is set on next! :)

Oh wow, what a gorgeous voice she has! I love the Beard Song. :thumb:
