What the Folk!

Is VLC your default player SheWolf? If not, make it so, or at least turn off the 'automatically open DVD software when a disc is detected' option. It's probably because when you put an out-of region DVD in the computer it is automatically trying to open/use other software that doesn't recognise non-USA DVDs. But if VLC is the default that won't be a problem. Or if you choose not to make it a default player but just turn off the 'automatic open' thing you should still be OK. The computer should still 'see' the disk, but just won't try to play it - which is where the issue happens. At that point you can go to 'file - open' in the VLC menu and select the disc manually. Of course if VLC is the default you won't need to do that.

That's the theory at least - it worked for me. Don't ask me how to change your default etc on a PC though - I have a Mac! Can't be that hard, there's a 'control panel' thing eh? If it's not that, 4ever may be able to help, or may have other (better?) suggestions?!

I thought VLC was my default player but that automatic open thing pops up whenever I insert a disc. I didn't realize that could be turned off. I'll see if I can figure out how to do that & double check that VLC is the default. Thanks.

For some reason I have no problem playing Region 4 on my laptop and other DVD players which aren't multi-regional but they don't play Region 1 (unless I use the VLC player or go through the set number of times the laptop is allowed to play it).

Hee hee! Just picked up Predicament on DVD - there are deleted scenes, cast interviews, a making of featurette, a music video, a photo gallery and a blooper reel! (Lots of Jemaine giggles to be heard!)

I just watched this movie. I was prepared for the worst. The rush to video had me cautious...but I really liked it. Jemaine is perfection. I can't describe how much I love his acting in this film. I want to immediately rewatch the whole thing, but alas I have one more holiday party to attend. The movie stayed true to the book, and most of the casting was spot on. Jemaine has several positively dirty lines. My favorite being the pole vaulting line.



Oh, Jemaine. The photo is from the image gallery on the dvd. I didn't know if you guys had seen it. I highly recommend buying this dvd.
