I've suddenly cast Wet Bret as Willoughby in Sense & Sensibility and he has carried our wounded heroine in out of the pouring rain, but will not be prevailed upon to sit as he doesn't wish to leave a water mark.

I never liked Willoughby much. I was all about Colonel Brandon... mostly because he was Alan Rickman and I love his voice.

I like seeing Wet Bret carry a damsel in distress, but Faith is right, Willoughby is a s**t.

I can see Wet Bret emerging from pond at Pemberley Hall though :rolleyes:

But, oh no! I love Willoughby. He is perhaps slightly morally challenged, but he'd be a lot of fun, no doubt. :waggle:

Have you ladies no sympathy for the tragedy of his story? He was merely enjoying his life, free and unconcerned with appearances. Willoughby didn't mistreat Marianne, so who knows...maybe Brandon's ward tried to trap him. :whistle:

And alas, just when he finds his true love...faced with losing everything he panics and regretfully chooses the practical route. We are left knowing that he will suffer for his youthful mistake, and pragmatic choice forever.
