Is VLC your default player SheWolf? If not, make it so, or at least turn off the 'automatically open DVD software when a disc is detected' option. It's probably because when you put an out-of region DVD in the computer it is automatically trying to open/use other software that doesn't recognise non-USA DVDs. But if VLC is the default that won't be a problem. Or if you choose not to make it a default player but just turn off the 'automatic open' thing you should still be OK. The computer should still 'see' the disk, but just won't try to play it - which is where the issue happens. At that point you can go to 'file - open' in the VLC menu and select the disc manually. Of course if VLC is the default you won't need to do that.

That's the theory at least - it worked for me. Don't ask me how to change your default etc on a PC though - I have a Mac! Can't be that hard, there's a 'control panel' thing eh? If it's not that, 4ever may be able to help, or may have other (better?) suggestions?!

I thought VLC was my default player but that automatic open thing pops up whenever I insert a disc. I didn't realize that could be turned off. I'll see if I can figure out how to do that & double check that VLC is the default. Thanks.

Thanks so much for the DVD information, Great H! :thumb:
For some reason I have no problem playing Region 4 on my laptop and other DVD players which aren't multi-regional but they don't play Region 1 (unless I use the VLC player or go through the set number of times the laptop is allowed to play it).

Hee hee! Just picked up Predicament on DVD - there are deleted scenes, cast interviews, a making of featurette, a music video, a photo gallery and a blooper reel! (Lots of Jemaine giggles to be heard!)

I just watched this movie. :biggrin: I was prepared for the worst. The rush to video had me cautious...but I really liked it. Jemaine is perfection. I can't describe how much I love his acting in this film. I want to immediately rewatch the whole thing, but alas I have one more holiday party to attend. :? The movie stayed true to the book, and most of the casting was spot on. Jemaine has several positively dirty lines. :roll2: My favorite being the pole vaulting line. :purple:

Oh, Jemaine. :heart: The photo is from the image gallery on the dvd. I didn't know if you guys had seen it. I highly recommend buying this dvd. :nod:
