Well as far as insiders go, it's the biggest joke to hit Broadway in years. It has not officially opened, it probably never will, because the critics will skewer it. Basically because they could have fed a country on what they've spent so far - as wonderful as The Lion King was, Julie Taymor the director just couldn't make this work, so after spending millions and millions, they fired her, brought in a new director, closed down, and now they're open and "in previews" again. People are goimg because of the curiosity factor, not because it's a great show.
Personally, I hope they've turned it around and now have a good product, but I don't know anyone who's seen the new and improved version.
