I really want to ask Shannon Hale whether there are any major changes from the book to the script. (and maybe about Bret's accent). But I'm sure she won't say. Jerusha Hess co-wrote the screenplay and will surely leave her distinctive mark on the tale. I didn't see Nacho Libre...did anyone?
Ms. Hale posted a new blog post today. I enjoyed this bit:
The scenes where the actors improvise are my favorite. It's amazing to see the scenes I wrote played out with the words I wrote, but I know these lines so well, it's an extra treat to hear their improvised lines, like getting our own private movie. And these actors are so clever and funny, the things they come up with are wonderful. Who knows what and how much will end up in the final version, but it sure makes it fun to watch take after take, when you don't know what will come out of their mouths.
*sigh* How exciting! I'll wager that Bret is providing a few of the laughs.
I wonder if this is Jerusha's style or if the actors are getting a bit carried away with a green director.
Either way, I'm hoping for lots of DVD extras!
Georgia King seems to be feeling the cast chemistry
as well. How delightful for them all! I hope this tone permeates the whole shoot.
