Bret and Jemaine on the cover of M2 Magazine

Postby LauraK » Tue Apr 17, 2012 6:02 am

It's a Men's Mag in NZ; or as they say below- in New Zulund, :)
And could someone please get Jemaine a shirt and jacket with longer sleeves?! But still...look at those lovely large hands!

So they just took the 1 pic of them each and rearranged it for the cover? I hope there are more in the issue!

Why does Bret get 2 side pockets and Jemaine only gets 1? I like the length of Jemaine's pants better than Bret's. Did they erase some of Jemaine's shoulders? They look the same width as Bret's...and I swear I can see some photoshop tool marks... They totally have on their band faces, lol...kind of McClegnie and Clemaine-ish. :)

I think I need to go to sleep now....

So, how many copies am I buying and putting in the post?!
And, speaking as a professional photoshop user, that's shocking work. At the very least they should have lightened the shadow areas of Jemaines image to bring out the jacket detail/colour etc on the right hand side - so it doesn't look like Bret just has weird hand-shaped privates on display.
Here's hoping that's just a preliminary promotional rough...

It also looks like "trick photography"! Jemaine looks like he is further back than Bret, maybe that's why their shoulders look the same width?
I went to the bank.

I was just thinking the same thing, kipples. I've had that pic you posted and a smaller version of the cover pic for at least a couple of years. I wonder if this is an interview or just an article about them & their tour? Good to see they're back in magazines. I hope there's some more publicity to come. :)

ETA: Here are other pics I have. There may be more:

Ah! The pic you posted, kipples, was immediately familiar. :) The other I hadn't seen and I guess I didn't connect it even with the shockingly red background.

Bret just has weird hand-shaped privates on display.

is it wrong that I've been staring really hard trying to see what you're talking about?? Nah, that can never be wrong! :P

Thank you for scanning that for us, Venus (and sending it GH). I enjoyed very much reading about that early Pit gig. And the big glossies are scrumptious! :tonqe: The deadpan dancing photo is one of my favorites of the two of them.

Huh. The pics are definitely old- I certainly remember the creepy-tongue pic...yet the cover of the mag says May 2012. Is the article recycled as well? What interview/article were these pics originally attached to? Weird.

Thanks, Venus! :) It's still cool to see them gracing a cover!

I don't remember reading this before either, I thought it was totally new and I really liked it! I thought it was well written and funny and really a great story, though not an interview really. Oh - is that what you meant, SW? Like, it used recycled quotes? That is true. Also the lyrics transcription had some flaws. But still I enjoyed it.

We haven't seen all the hard work they've put in behind the scenes. The folk sweat they've put in. The folk tears. The folk blood.

 I like this guy. ;)

There's a certain delightful irony in the fact that the persona of New Zealand on the Conchords' TV series has, for many people, become fact. A place where The Dog Show is our favorite show and the biggest job opportunity is shepherding.

WHAT!!?? Is he implying it's not like that?? Come on dude, next you'll be telling me there's no Santa Claus or something. *sticks fingers in ears while humming* ;)

It is a newly written article, they've just used pics they've bought from an image library - it says so right under the authors name...

Yis, correction, it's a newly written article using photos and text previously used in other publications.
