Both Jemaine and Taika have been working on making a feature length vampire film based on What We Do In The Shadows for a while now and Taika has expressed an interest in making a feature length film based on Maori soldiers like Tama Tu which I guess is where the WWII comedy stems from. I don't think Jemaine is going to be involved in the WWII comedy though. It sounds like it is only being written by Taika in this article. :dunno:

Yeah, that article clears things up. And as far as actual script writing with Jemaine, Taika may just be (name dropping and) taking advantage of an opportunity to roll out his ironic vampire genre quip.

I've just split this thread into a new thread about Jemaine and Taika's upcoming vampire movie. You can further discuss the film here. :)

A recent interview with Jemaine entitled, "It's Good To Be Creative".

Oh my what an awful piece of so called writing that was.

"If he ever got in trouble it was for laughing too loud."
--Not at all surprising.

"Once when he had lost his rubber, he made a hole in the paper trying to rub out his mistake with his finger."
--So many sexual innuendos one hardly knows where to begin.

I'm not sure it qualifies as a style of writing that I'm familiar with. "Inspiring Educators"? Hardly.

The sandal story sounds a bit fishy. Why would they need to take off their sandals in the first place? And if he wound up with the wrong pair why couldn't he just look around and see who was wearing his? And most importantly whoever took his must have been the same size so what's the big deal? He should have wound up with a pair of sandals that fit him even if they weren't the same ones he started with. Am I over thinking this? :P

If you are then I am too because my line of thinking went in much the same direction. Maybe they were having a lesson on how to play Twister...

Come on, you guys. He forgot his rubber, so he just used his finger. What's wrong with that?

SheWolf wrote:"Inspiring Educators"? Hardly.

Hee hee! I thought the same thing.

:roll2: I wonder what my reaction would be if one of my kids came home from school wearing a different pair of shoes than they left the house with. :hrm: I guess it would depend on how nice the shoes were vs the ones they originally had.

It's too bad the author of this bit didn't use too many actual quotes from Jemaine, but it does sound as if she interviewed him. (however clumsily she put it to paper)

This part "The teacher held up his book and showed everyone, saying this is an example of what not to do. He thought her saying that was an example of what not to do." really tugs at my heart - I wonder if he knew at the time that his teacher's public reproach was the true mistake? In any case perhaps with his mention of it here he will indeed 'inspire educators'.

There are all kinds of reasons that Kindergartners might take off their shoes...though this, "Note to Jemaine's mum (an NZEI staff member): this is the story and he’s sticking to it." sort of implies that poor "Little Jemaine" wasn't entirely innocent. Probably traded those new sandals for a muffin.

I love the story about his 23 poems  and the mention that he and Bret have been busy writing. :whitey:

She also says that he was about ready to leave on a MIB3 publicity tour. Perhaps he'll be in the US soon.

Thanks for posting the interview, nonch. Some good bits of info in there. Lol at the sandals situation. I wonder how that worked out. :hrm:
Yes, sounds like Jemaine will be back in the US soon for the MIB promo tour if he isn't already (& hopefully will find his way to the UK at some point too!). :D

That *was* random. Jemaine as Richard Burton... I don't think so. Looks-wise I think the guy to his left was the best match. That was a nice picture of the J-Dogg though.
