Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement arrives at Dunedin International Airport yesterday afternoon. Photo by Craig Baxter. One half of Flight of the Conchords, Jemaine Clement, drew only the odd whisper and occasional pointed finger as he went through Dunedin International Airport yesterday afternoon.
Flight of the Conchords will perform for a sold-out crowd at Dunedin's Regent Theatre tonight, as part of a nine-show tour of New Zealand.
Although Clement was accompanied by opening act Arj Barker and an entourage of about 10 people, the other half of the duo, Bret McKenzie, was nowhere to be seen.
Tonight's show will be the Conchords' first performance in Dunedin and although Clement (38) gave little away, he gave a hint of his dry humour by advising fans not to expect "too much".
"We just do our songs and talk."
Clement was pleased with the "positive" response to their tour so far, and said the success of the duo was down to shared interests.
"We both really like music and making jokes."
The duo will perform in Queenstown tomorrow.

It seems as though people spotted both of them last night so Bret must have eventually made it in.
