Request- Folk The World Tour

Postby teej212 » Thu Aug 30, 2007 1:46 pm

Hi im new here and i know a request should never be someone's first post but.....

I have been trying to get folk the world tour. i tried legally but the site will never let me get on- smokecd's? does this happen to anyone else? I tried illegally  on torrent sites but none of them have seeders and the ones that do are not even the real album! well if possible could someone send the songs on yousendit.com? It would be great if someone would. unfortunately i dont have many rare FotC stuff but i have the entire soundtrack to the first season so far if anyone wants.

thanks

The SmokeCDs site is back up. It's been working for me for the past two days. I think they were just having some maintenance issues recently. Give it a try now. (direct link to album)

That's in NZ dollars. It's about $18 US, I think.

As Indy said, thats NZ $ price.

Also please remember this is a self funded CD by Bret and Jemaine back in 2002. Paid for out of their own pocket and the year they first went to the Edinburgh Fringe and it cost them money to make and take their show overseas. They were out of pocket for it all, with the cost of the trip, that they were only playing to small audiences etc.

So I always hope people will support them as artists and buy the album legally, regardless of how well they may be doing now. Afaik its still not on a label as such and is still funded by the guys.

i just tried to buy folk the world from smoke cd's but i don't understand their payment methods--one option was paypal ipn, i chose it but it didn't ask me to log in to my paypal account so i don't think it worked (not sure what the ipn means)--and i'm not sure what dps (direct payment solutions?) is--does anyone know if there is another place i can buy it?

I think if you go with the dps, it gives you the credit card option. I know that's what I've used in the past.

Yep, what Jones said. I just bought the WIUO EP and the new Samuel Flynn Scott album from smokecds and if you use the DPS option, it recognizes the type of credit card once you go to the next screen.

and the new Samuel Flynn Scott album

I am IN LOVE with this album! Quite different from The Hunt, but just freakin' awesome! The WIUO's version of Weather With You is brilliant, too.

Topic? I hope the ordering process is easier this time, claire.

Glad to hear the order went through, claire!

It took a good couple of weeks. Hang in there, it's well worth it. I just love the ending of the Mermaid song. Cracks me up every time.

Yes, what tvldiva said. It always takes a few weeks. Sigh. My package from smokecds was shipped on the 18th and I'm still waiting (impatiently...).
