If you could hear them cover any song, which would it be?

Or are you against covers...?
I don't know, I think their brilliant lyrics are the main part or their goodfullness, but their voices are quite sixy too...
I'd have to say, The Velvet Underground's Who Loves the Sun

Because they are comedians I can't picture them covering any song tbh. I'd not really look at them the same way if they did a cover version of a serious song.

Sorry, didn't help much

What do you mean by 'cover any song'?
Bret: Have been sheared.
Jemaine: Have been shorn.

After hearing Bret do a bit of the Flaming Lips' Yoshimi... Pt.1, I'd like to hear him sing Fight Test.

A cover is a new rendition of a previously recorded song, for example, Gloria Estefan did a cover of Vicki Sue Robinson's "Turn the Beat Around", and as in this case, the original is often better. The guys are very musical though, and after seeing Jemaine working through the chords of "Freebird", that might be a fun one for them - maybe not all 9 minutes though! And maybe done with some of their humor infused.

That was pretty good. In Philly, he sang it as an American Idol contestant. It was pretty hilarious.

As H.. said, just click on the red exclamation mark on any spam post and that will alert us that it's there, rather than you commenting on it. Thanks!

They have such great voices that I wouldn't mind hearing them cover just about any song. Bret's Yoshimi sounded lovely & I enjoyed the bit of Freebird Jemaine did on tour so... I recall that they did some backing vocals for Bic Runga at Largo and I would have loved to have heard that coz I'm sure it was lovely.

Let's see, if they could cover any song? The Sound of Silence come to mind.

For everyone's information - that was in reference to a spam post that has now been deleted - not in reference to our dear Nancy's post!

Back to the subject at hand - agree SW. and think that almost any Simon and Garfunkel song would do.
Bret: Have been sheared.
Jemaine: Have been shorn.

How about Changes by David Bowie?

That would be funny, to go with Bowie's in Space

"Another Way to Die"

Bret can sing Jack White while Jemaine can sing Alicia Keys... because she is the more masculine of the two. I just think it would be funny for them to do a Bond song, actually...
