I don't remember that part. It feels like forever since I've watched the show. Perhaps I need to whip those DVDs out.

''As worthy and hilarious as his many acting and comedic pursuits undeniably are, there shall always be a Flight of the Conchords-shaped elephant in whatever room Rhys Darby finds himself in.''

Well, yis. I miss Murray.

HBO is running a "behind the scenes featurette" of Rhys's new movie "Yes Man". (Technically, it's a Jim Carrey movie but we all know who the real star is)
They showed some quick scenes that sold me on it (since I'm not a big Carrey fan). Both involve Rhys in costumes- one is a Spartan(think Gerald Butler in 3000) and Ron Weasley. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this movie.

I'm thinking of seeing this just for Rhys too - I like Jim Carrey but his overacting can get annoying. Rhys shows up a lot in the previews for the movie though - looks funny! :D

Zooey Dechanel(sp?) looks fabulous in it, also. In one scene, she is singing in a band. The song is something about not being a late night bootie call. I love her. She's wonderfully quirky.

I think I have a little celebrity crush going with Rhys these days! :eyelashes:

I just caught another interview with the cast of "Yes Man" on Comedy Central. (It was on Reel Comedy but I can't find any link to it- sorry!) Jim Carrey called him a scene stealer, so that makes me happy! Even with very little time, he managed to get in some really great bits. He said with this movie, his sidekick days are over. He will be Batman now instead of Robin. Then did some weird dance- Bob Fosse/Batman thing. Of course, when asked who can he not say no to, he replied "My son. I just melt when he looks at me." :bighug: Too sweet!!

Agreed, TV!

I already adored him and his incredible talent, but the reference to his son makes me love him even more!!!

Truly sweet!

I won't post the entire review but I do love this part-

Quote:
...Carrey does his usual job here, but it’s not enough. The New Zealander Darby, from The Flight of the Conchords, whisks the film out from underneath Carrey’s nose with his consistently funny turn as Carl’s nerdy, needy boss, Norman. ...

I love that he's getting good press out of a mediocre movie. :supz: I'm going to check it out tomorrow.

I've been a bit bummed cos I wasn't quick enough to get tickets for Rhys' show here in Auckland tonight :bang: but I did manage to nab one of a few free tickets for an advance screening of Yes Man this afternoon :) (it doesn't open until January 1 here) and guess what? Rhys was at the screening! :D He introduced the film and did a Q&A afterwards that practically turned into a mini gig! So I'm a happy bunny after all... I got to say a quick hello to him on the way out and made sure to tell him his song on Episode 1 was great - YAY!
Oh and I totally thought Rhys stole a lot of the scenes!

Oh that is so wonderful! Yay yay yay! Good onya, GH! How did he look? Did he have a goatee? Oh, that is just so fantastic! Rhys is such a lovely bunny. I bet he's very glad to be home in NZ, with sunshine and pohutukawas and barbecues and jandals and oh, everything. Our boys deserve a little warmth and silliness, don't they?

What a gorgeous little Christmas prezzie to YOU!
