Yesterday, here in the NYC area, we had an emergency landing of a jet which had just taken off from LaGuardia Airport and landed in (yes, in) the Hudson River. The news coverage was overwhelming and went on for hours. The pilot pulled off a very skillful and lifesaving feat. He is to be greatly commended.

How does FOTC fit in with this? Well, I didn't think they did, but a journalist found a way to tie them into this news story and much like that pilot, he deserves a round of kudos! See if you can find the reference in this article:

I too have that same sort of feeling, but at the same time I am glad for their success. Sinking feeling because all the notoriety means the end of small clubs and such, the advent and continuation of larger non intimate venues. Sinking because they may not be able lead a normal life. They may not be able to just pop into a Burger King or Pig n' Whistle, or just go to the movies or 7/11 or just take a walk in the city, or take in a gallery opening. Notoriety can suck. I'm sure there are many places around the globe where they can do these things, but here in Amirica, it's getting less and less (I'm assuming). Maybe not though - maybe we have them so 'on the brain' we see them as being larger than they are. :hrm:

Oh my gosh, WomanInThePark, I'm so glad your Aunt's okay.
I heard Ellen had several people from that flight on her show, and they were given a ten day cruise.
