kellysouthpaw, if you want a serviceable version, you can go to a site like listentoyoutube.com and it will seperate out the audio track into an mp3
.
I've done that for the songs that haven't turned up as mp3s in other formats. Of course, I'm going to buy the CD when it comes out, but it's nice to have the Femident jjngle and "Dave's Pawn Shop" promos around in the meantime.

It's up! I checked today. Gotta love a song that mentions livestock!

Thanks for the listentoyoutube site! That's a handy gadget! I wanted the femident song too, just so the other groomers finally know what the heck I'm singing when I brush dogs teeth in the tub. Now I can prove that I'm not....hmmm...okay...that I'm less weird. lol Plus, there's a Cocorosie cover of an Akon song that will never be released on cd that I've wanted so badly! Now I have it! Yippie skippy! :bounce:

For me it's "Guns, TVs, VCRs/DVDs, Used Guitars" from the Mohumbhai and Sons promo, LOL!

Glad it's working for ya!

I have a youtube to mp3 converter that Amanda told me about :) But if given the choice I like to buy them off iTunes...support our guys and whatnot! Plus the quality is usually better for the mp3's through iTunes vs youtube videos. But thank you though! :D

Yep! definitely buy what you can from I-tunes. I was happy for the youtube site though for stuff I know won't ever be released. (So much easier than trying to record it from a stereo speaker! lol) I feel if it's someone's vid from a live performance then that's ok to have a mp3 of, but stuff I think will be officially released I'd much rather have the professional copy of.

Absolutely! And if they end up releasing "Sally" or "Cheer Up Murray" later on, I'll certainly buy the CD or mp3.

My friend, Coco, just sent me this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNZ_ONpI-g8

Apparently her mum recognised Bret's karaoke tune from this Chinese song from the 70s. Hilarious!!! :rolls:

OH MY GOD! Amazing find Dandy!!!! So fantastic!

On an unrelated note, did you have any luck finding the NZ version of the On-Air doc? You were so quick to post the HBO version last time!

Thank you so much, Dandy! That was great. And thank you, Coco's Mom!
So I guess they didn't write that one, eh? Although if the song was in Chinese, someone must have translated it into Korean for the show. That's one of the questions I asked James Bobin (Who wrote the karaoke song, and who coached Bret on the Korean?), so maybe we'll find out.

Apparently the chinese lyrics are about memories of her childhood, puppy love, playing in the prairie... nothing to do with happy dances or kalbi. ;)
I reckon they used the tune and wrote their own lyrics and translated them into Korean.

Coco?? :wtf:

My wife recognized the tune when we watched the episode, but for some reason she did not know the lyrics :rolls:. It turns out the singer in this Youtube video was a grade school classmate of hers and made it to the Taiwanese equivalent of the top 40 when it came out way back when.

On an unrelated note, I was happy to see the homage to the Philadelphia transit system in the FotC video.

My wife tells me that the song, which was #1 during the year it came out, is originally Chinese and is a wistful reminiscence, sort of along the lines of Brahbrah Streisand's 'Memories,' about long lost love, la di da, and nothing to do with beef delicacies, pheasants or even lactating virtuous cows. I feel sorry for the poor Korean who must have died laughing while translating the lyrics.
