Awesome story H. I can't watch the whole vid now but it looks like Rhys has a new hairdo and he may have slimmed down a bit.

I've won Rhys Darby's Live: Imagine That! DVD on eBay and can't wait to watch it. Got a pretty good deal, too. :)

What did you think, those who've seen it? From all I've gathered, he's brilliant. :)

You've probably seen this but it's just so silly it really made me laugh so I had to share:

Congrats, Laura! :supz:

I haven't seen the dub video dub, but I saw his act last fall, and I roared! He's wonderful as Murray on the FoTC show, but his standup is so different and so hilarious as well! :roll2:
Enjoy!

I enjoyed it :)

It is very different from Murray though. He does like his sound effects and stuff.

Is it region 2? I didn't think there was an R1 of that DVD. Just checking to make sure you can play R2 if it is :)

Sherry, I never even thought of that. :?

I'm hoping I can watch it....it's coming from someone in CA and they said they've watched it once. I'll let you know. :) *fingers crossed*

Well, you nailed it Sherry!

He sent it wrapped in the original bubble-bag with the partially torn off his shipping label and I could see it had come from Australia, so I thought "uh-oh."

Sure enough, for the first time ever our DVD player said "Cannot play disc: Wrong Region." :(

But he was very nice, said he thought he'd put in the auction that it was a region 2 (he hadn't) and he offered me a full refund incl shipping.

I've checked around and there are Region 1's out there, I just need to find one and a non-ridiculous price. :)

Hmmm region 4 is Australia and NZ

I don't think there is a R1 one out there tbh as I recall Rhys or Rosie saying something about there wasn't a distribution deal in place.

So be wary of anyone claiming to have a R1 DVD of that. Just in case.

It might be worth getting it converted. Or perhaps watching on your computer (if you are able, might require a few things tweaking if not already able to)

I was studying the back of the DVD and it has the NTSC globe on it and the regions 2, 3, 4 and 5 around it. I've learned a lot about the different regions now, thanks to this. I had thought there were only 1 and 2.

For anyone following along who might be curious, here they are:
Region 1 - The U.S., U.S. territories and Canada
Region 2 - Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland
Region 3 - Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong
Region 4 - Mexico, South America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean
Region 5 - Russia (okay, former Russia), Eastern Europe, India, most of Africa, North Korea, Mongolia
Region 6 - China

Amazon has sellers claiming to have Region 1's to sell and they have them listed at upwards of $66! I don't think so.

I'll try it on the computer.....thanks, Sherry. :)

Also, I have heard there are all-region players available out there.

I know that I want to get one when mine finally dies.
I hate having to wait 3-4 years for DVDs of UK shows BBCAmerica runs now.

How do the prices compare to the usual DVD players? Ours is about 6 yrs old so I'd be up for a replacement. :)

Well over here multi region is standard these days when you buy a DVD player. Unless you buy a really cheap one perhaps. But ours plays all sorts.

Same with the computer :)

It plays beautifully on my computer! We got it last Nov and have a 22" flat screen, and it looks like I'm watching HDTV! Which we don't have, lol!

Thanks, Sherry! I'm keeping it. :D

I got a really cheap one almost a decade ago, and that might be the case here in the States. I know my next one isnt' going to be really cheap. :(
