What the Folk!

There is no promotion, cover, or tracklist circulating. Does anyone know what is going on?

There's no concrete date as of yet. Apparently SubPop will be announcing it in a month or so.

Itunes says April 15th. Maybe it's going to be digital only at first?

Am I the only one that doesn't see it on iTunes

I forget exactly how I found it... But I know I did a search for "Flight of the Conchords" and I believe in the top half, where the album pictures show up, there was a link for "countdown to Flight of the Conchords," or something close to that. When you click on that, it takes to a page with a very nice pic of the guys and the singles that were released throughout the series. There's also a little blurb on the side about how they were releasing the songs a couple at a time and then you'd be able to "complete the album" when it's released. If you scroll down the blurb, it lists the first couple singles that were released and the dates and then under that it said "April 15: Album Released"

^ I do recall seeing the same thing on iTunes, maybe as of now its had changed?? Maybe after the tour is over??

Subpop say on their website about buying the whole album from 14 April. To quote them

On the album’s release date, if you’ve bought some or all of the songs throughout the season on iTunes, you’ll have the option to “Complete the Album” through iTunes, and won’t have to repurchase anything. You could also just buy the complete album from us on or after April 14th. We view that option favorably as well.

If its been pushed back it would have been nice of them to let fans know.

I saw April 15 on iTunes as well (the US store at least). It doesn't say it on NZ iTunes tho, which is a real shame since it's been April 15 here for 11-and-a-half-hours already and no album has appeared!!

I thought I heard the 18th - don't know where though.

Further info! The entire new Flight of the Conchords album will be released on April 14th just as soon as we’re able after the conclusion of Season 2. It will include all ten of the songs released through iTunes, plus several more (probably 15 or so tracks total). It will also include an album title, some (we’re confident) very nice and very palpable artwork, and either a large shiny black disc, or a smallish silvery one, depending. On the album’s release date, if you’ve bought some or all of the songs throughout the season on iTunes, you’ll have the option to “Complete the Album” through iTunes, and won’t have to repurchase anything.

Amazon said it wasn't available yet. Not even a title.

We didn't get it in our new releases yesterday either.

I recall JB saying about the DVD having their commentary on it. But that they maybe would not be able to do that as they were working on the album.

So as we know, a DVD is out in 4 or so months so nowhere near ready yet. And if its 4 months till DVD then somewhere in that is the recording of the commentary. If guys are working on album and not able to record a commentary it would have to be somewhere in this time frame surely.

However, the tracks released on iTunes so far are all completed album versions. Unlike S1 when the songs in the show were totally reworked for the album as they guys were not happy with them. So they have to finish say 5 more songs if they have released 10 already.

I think, if its not all laid down already they'll work on the rest back in New Zealand once the tour is done. I cannot see them staying in the US once the tour is done for obvious reasons.

Just my thoughts on it all.
