Can anyone who knows a thing or two about guitar figure out the tabs to "Stana"? It seems very easy...

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

I'm not sure anyone has been able to work tabs out for this yet as I don't think there is a good enough quality copy of it floating around for anyone to work off of. The clips I've seen of it haven't really been all that clear.

But saying that, maybe someone might give it a go.

I know they play the main chords in the Texas Odyssey documentary, maybe someone who is better at tabs than I *looking at you, TheFool :prayer:* can take a look at the clip and have a go? The clip can be found at the end of the Stana lyrics thread.

I've been abstaining from listening to Stana until now, but I'll most certainly take a crack at it. It might take me a while (I'm aeroplaning away without a computer or guitar for a while), but I'll listen and see what I can do. Also, I have Bus Driver's Song all but figured and will be posting it soonly for any interested souls. Until then, my friends.

Edit(I can't seem to find the edit button any more on my posts?[EDIT2: Ok, just the one above...]):
At first listen the main bit is an Am like so

e___0_______0
B___1_______1
G___2_______2
D___2_______2
A_0_______0
E_____0_3

etc.
The multi-note parts(2210) are a quick little two-part strum that I didn't feel I had to illustrate in exact detail, just a down-up strum.

and there seem to be some of these thrown in
e__1/5__
b__1/5__

and Big J is just Bass noting around mostly it seems, and doing the bits such as that one above. More to come soonly!

P.S. does anyone know whereabouts in A Texan Odyssey the chords would be? The quality on the provided clip is a bit of a stretch for the ole ears.

I posted it in the topic about this song's lyrics, I think.

Am Bb G C F

Then when the part comes with the people being tired of him killing there kids and raping their sheep you play.

Dm E

then go back to the Am

The electric stranger is correct! I would just add that the Dm E part repeats once before heading on to Am.

I:

Am (as detailed in my post above, though the bass notes are sometimes dropped when the verse lyrics begin)

This is the strangest tale you’ll ever hear
Wherever you go, far or near,
Bb
In all your days, your months, your years
G___________________________C____________F___Am
The strangest words you heard, if you got ears.
Am
If you don’t have ears, this’ll be the strangest tale that you ever lip read.

...
II:

Dm
The people were sick of him killing their kids and raping their sheep
E
So one night they drugged his drink, tried to sneak out while he was asleep
Dm
But Stana awoke before they got outta town because the drug was just too weak
E
He gathered them round, shot every one of them down
