I will be off for a bit. I am leaving for a short trip to California this afternoon. My family and I will be going to go see Ryhs Darby, and also visiting family and the (real) beach. I was born in CA and moved when I was 13 and only visited once since then at 15. So this should be fun

Though I will miss the Jemiane thread viry much.

The kids and I are going to Texas to visit their grandparents tomorrow. For a week. It's always a bit difficult so wish me luck, lol. My husband and I have coined a new word to describe these yearly visits to his parents' - it's an "oblication", i.e. "I had a great time on my vacation in New Zealand - my oblication with my in-laws, not so much."

Aww I'll miss you guys too! This is my escape from the crazy everyday! LOL

The Dallas area - it's actually a little more than an hour outside Dallas, in the middle of the Texas prairie, where the only entertainment is going to WalMart and that's a twenty minute drive. Yee haw.

I'm sorry to speak ill of TX... I know people live there and like it. I see you live there, BG. Whereabout? My friend Paul lives in Austin and he loves it. I think I've only been to the lame parts of Texas, lol.

Haha.. tis okay I totally know what your talking about! I know those parts of Texas! I live smack dab in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth. About 5 mins from DFW airport

And Austin is my favorite city... I shall live there someday.. I swear!!!

My in-laws used to live in Flower Mound. I liked that a lot better than where they live now, at least there was stuff around. Don't get me wrong, I actually love the country in general, but where the ILs live it's just flat, thorny, hot and BORING.

Too bad they don't still live in FM, we could have gotten together for a samosa.

Flower Mound is actually about 15 mins from me.. that is too bad!

Well I will be sending you positive vibes for a good trip! Maybe they will want to come into the big city for a day! And I meant Dallas.. not the "city" with the Wal-mart..

My in-laws live in Benbrook which is just outside of Ft worth) and it's the same way.. nothing out there. My kids hate going out there too.SO I can totally sympathize.

Just here to let you guys know that I'm on vacation for the next three weeks, and I have internet access so I'll check in when I can, but it's so painfully slow that I'll probably mostly be here just to read. So ya, I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth! I'll be around quietly

ive been quiet anyway cos my laptop lead died, so ive been checking ever so often on a very slow comp..but im off to big chill festival on thurs, & then ill be down south & in london for a week or so after that so i wont be on!
when im back & my laptops sorted, ill try post lots again
(i still feel new, so i feel like you've all forgotten me but im sure thats not the case!)
