What the Folk!

I know it may be far fetched, but if the occasion should arise that two or more of the fine ukers at WTF! should happen to meet IRL I thought it would be fun if we knew some of the same songs:)

The idea is to just write down the melodies you can play by heart so that other members of WTF!IUO can learn to play them to (if they like)

And it is probably a good idea to mentioned where or how you learned it

I want to learn Blue Smoke - think it's beautiful. How hard is it, Kelly?
Planning to learn It's a Heartache, as soon as Helen's string repaired.

Suspect as the evening wears on, we may end up playing imaginary ukes!

Not hard in the least. I've been playing uke for 3 weeks now and I've got it memorized and down pat. The d and d7 chord are tough for me because I have fat fingers, but I'm making it work and every time I practice I get better Only 5 chords: G, C, A7, D, D7 - you just rearrange what order you play it in from verse to chorus.

How hard is It's a Heartache?

Heartache is easy peasy lemon squeezy, but it may be that I feel that way cause it's the first one I learned

If you like a bit of classic country, particularly Patsy Cline, then Walking After Midnight is a great song to play on the uke. It's quite simple and it's fun, since you can add a bit of a shuffle in there.
