:yay: This link is working again! That site was down for over a month (seems like years) and I was worried it wouldn't return. Those videos are my favorite to play along with and I was suffering serious withdrawl.
You'd have to be deaf to hear that.

If you've only seen the youtube version of Blue Smoke you should watch the ukuleledisco.com one. It's shot from a more bretastic angle and has a close up during the verse that he sings. I challenge even non-breteros to watch it without swooning.

The fun they are having in those videos is contageous. Uke rules!

Uke does rule  And as a Bretero through and through, should be worried for my health watching this other version?

You might want Dr. Cruise to evaluate you to be sure you can handle it. :yawinkle:
His shoulder moves in Haere Mai and Ten Guitars are worth a look too.

I had been considering buying a uke. These videos convinced me to get one. Blue Smoke is gorgeous, Haere Mai and Ten Guitars are catchy, and I loved the camaraderie between Bret, Gemma and Carmel.

I wanna learn Haere Mai. It's catchy. I like it. And I've never seen anyone keep the beat with both legs like Bret is doing in parts of that video. It's usually one leg or the other. He was getting into it. :D

He just can't sit still, he's having so much fun! The cute faces that he makes, oh lord I love that man. I made all kinds of funny noises while watching those. :worry:

Thanks for the link, Steph.

Thought I'd post this here. The cast of Hair did a benefit last week for a friend with stage 4 lung cancer (my daughter was in Hairspray with her, so she performed as well - check NYC Meetup). Here are three of the ladies in the cast, one with a gorgeous uke. I love her consistent strum, and note her use of her thumb for a bar chord:

I thought some used a thumb to bar chords with!

That was gorgeous! How old is the uke player?

They're all pretty young - I'd say early to mid 20s. If you know the show Hair, the redhead on the left plays Crissy and sings "Frank Mills", and the blonde on the right plays Jeannie, the pregnant one. It was so much fun being able to watch a uke being played nicely and hear such lovely harmonies!

The Great British Ukulele Orchestra being awesome (I can't work out how the Youtube tags work  ):

Since we have Jake on here I think it's only fair to have James Hill too :D :

I love James because of his slightly eccentric enthusiasm, and because he seems like a really nice guy. Also he's amazing on the uke (obviously) He has his own 'make' of ukulele. It's pretty cool.

I thought ,seen as it was Patrick Wolf who got me into ukulele playing, I would bring a few videos along to show to those who don't know who he is.

Here he is playing a baritone ukulele:

And here's one of him playing a soprano:
