Bowie to Bowie?

Postby seasick_sarah » Tue Aug 25, 2009 4:30 am

Ummm....hi? I'm Sarah and contrary to my username (a Velvet Underground reference 8) ) I don't actually suffer from any form of motion sickness. I'm from Melbourne, Australia - but don't hold that against me because my parents are both European-born! Been into FotC only since the second season started Down Under a couple of months back so I have some catching up to do. I'm (clearly!) a Bretero....please can someone tell me if I've been a bit overzealous in my choice of avatar for this forum? :worry:
What else to say...favourite FotC song...too hard to choose, but probably a huge, messy tie between Foux Du Fafa, Bowie, Mermaids, Prince of Parties, Boom, You Don't Have to Be a Prostitute and I Told You I Was Freaky (Freekie?)...

Hello, Sarah! Welcome to the forum. Your avatar looks great to me. Mine's got them flippin' the bird, so I think you're all right. ;) Come by and vote in our Bret look smackdown thread. We would love to have your opinion on which Bret you like best. :D We are a good group here. Have fun and make yourself at home.

Welcome to the forum Sarah!

Being a bi-chordian with Bret tendencies, your avatar is one heck of a nice choice if you ask me

Dad's German, mum's English (from Lancashire). :D I've been lurking whilst waiting for my account to be approved and I see you're in Europe too...where are you from? And how do you become a Conchords fan over there anyways?

Welcome, Sarah! Love your avatar. :D

Have fun getting caught up...there's still so much more to come and so many great people here to experience it with. I'm sure you'll soon be a regular....you might even find yourself wanting to buy a ukulele and join an imaginary orchestra!

Ah, I just read that you speak German in the language thread. Cool! And Welsh?? That is special

I'm from Norway:) They did actually send S1 on telly over here, but I didn't become a proper fan until one of my friends started sending me Youtube clips :D 'Robots' had me hooked  I went through everything there was on YT. After that I downloaded the series (I know..mea culpa, mea culpa... I've bought them both now though, to pay for my sins  ), and the rest is a blur :D

The ukelele is a sadly overlooked and undervalued instrument...I just might go out and buy one...seeing WIUO do Ziggy Stardust (one of my faves) really convinced me.

My poor broadband connection has copped a beating since I got into FotC, let me tell you. And they're repeating season one at 12:30 am on Mondays at the moment, so I've been setting my alarm for the middle of the night just to watch it, despite having to get up at 5 a.m. the next day.... My sudden, violent addiction is really that serious. (Can't find the season one DVD for the life of me, but I have number two as of last Monday.) But I should've caught up pretty soon.

Yeah, get the uke, Sarah. Get the funky, funky uke!

We have no members from the SH yet, so that would be übercool!

Why do you have to get up at 5??

I live 2 hours' public transport travel from my uni, and I live on-campus during the week (no way in hell I'm staying there when I don't have to), but don't have classes on Monday, so Tuesdays I have to get up early, pack my things and get on the train to face another week. :bang: But that awful start-of-another-week depression all but disappears when I go to sleep with the theme tune in my head...

Conchords, not Prozac!

(That should SO be my signature...)
